  1. 9:00 man dont call me out here i just like to have something in the backround yapping😅

  2. Edinburgh is pronounced with 'ruh' (as in bruh) at the end, not 'row'.

  3. Don't underestimate mechanical watches. It's one of a very few luxurious segments where I understand the very premium pricing and it's really not only for fancy materials like gold or diamonds but mostly for the mechanical movements in those watches which can do really marvelous things in some cases. There are perpetual calendars which will mechanicaly correct date for like 400 years, minute repeaters which will chime a time for you, all kinds of chronographs etc. And if Linus likes his moving unicorn, he should check-out Jaquet Droz The Bird Minute Repeater. It's crazy what brands like A. Lange & Sohne or Patek Philipe can do. Vacheron Constantine has made a pocket watch that has 63 complication (different functions) and just the movement consists almost 2900 components. Of course these are luxurious thing ultra pro max and not everyone has to like it or have a money for it but still it's worth some appreciation. And even within the affordable segment. Mechanical watch for 300 bucks will serve you and your kids and your grandkids and their grandskids for literaly hundreds of years, it will always show time and it only needs some servicing once per 10 years while smart watch won't last even those 10 years before it's not replaceable battery dies and if a smart watch itself get's broken, there is most likely no way to get it fixed.

  4. The main reason I tend to use PayPal (or similar products like Amazon Pay or Google Pay) when shopping online is that I don't have to give my actual card details to the merchant (though 3-month split pay for large purchases is also handy). Part of my security posture is to reduce the number of companies that I give my details to. My using Google Pay, Amazon Pay, or PayPal when shopping online, the details are stored in fewer places, so less chance of a data breach gaining access to my card details.

For me it's about the security of not handing my card details to the merchant directly, not the autofill part (but I would if I needed to)

  5. You can perfectly install geothermal heat pumps at home over here. They are not cheap depending on how far your yard is and what way they have to install the underground bit (horizontal across your whole yard or vertical by drilling), but they are perfectly feasible. Our estimate was 20000 euro's 10 years back, because of the distance between the pump and the loop in the yard. Gas was a fifth of the price and back then, that kind of savings … Well.
Now we have an air-water heat pump.

  6. What a pathetic list of excuses for someone who call themselves yourself "Tech" channel.

If you knew enough to stop working with them and to actually consider talking about it you also could have tested (You have a team behind you) the cookie/browser behaviour, shown the situation and asked the right questions, stop hiding behind the "we didnt know better at the time, we could have impacted people, prople stopped working with them" pathetic list

Grow some spine and do better, that starts by admitting you will do more in the future and joining the lawsuit not for the compensation but to held them accountable…

  7. Dude stfu all he said was it would have been nice for you to mention it to your audience, perhaps through a community post or tweet, like damn, you just can’t help yourself to keep pushing the very small amount of blame off yourself. Just simply take it and say “yeah in hindsight this subject wasn’t as widespread and known as I thought it was, I should have made a small post.” Like holy heck, just accept that you were one of the most well known affiliate with honey, knew they were doing something terrible, and didn’t say anything. Just take that and go on. He used you as examples in the video because again, you were one of the best known people partnered with them, and you gave a ton of links that’s easy to demonstrate with. Good god you made a mountain out of a mole hill bro. You obviously don’t care about the people below you, whether that’s the community who made you famous, or other YouTube colleagues, which is sickening. “It takes too much time to trim the videos” or “we’re not participating in the lawsuit” are such arrogant comments.

  8. L take on the Honey stuff. All you said was corpo speak for whats best for you and your business. A law suit isn't just about YOUR money, its about putting a stop to these practices.

  9. Wan show running Harry Potter with spoilers and no warning… . 😀

  10. Speaking of games that are frame-timed… Lego Jurassic Park.
There's a point when you play as a raptor and need to jump on a cliff, you have to limit FPS to 30 to make the jump.

Because it's based on the 3d models timings.

  11. Not taking part in a class action lawsuit because it is "not my style" is perhaps the stupidest thing I've heard Linus say.

  12. I got several hundred dollars from the windows class action lawsuit a year or two ago.

  13. Anyone else think Luke is acting a bit odd with his take on honey? To me he is laughing at the audience.

Last week on WAN show they said they heard about it at the time from a couple of tweets and it was mentioned on the forum. This week, they say they were spammed by so many people 4 years ago telling them about honey. Anyone else pick up on this?

Then Linus polarises the debate saying people wanted him to. Make a video about dropping honey 4 years ago. No one is saying that… Most people say he could have mentioned it on WAN show.

Then Linus reckons that he would have got backlash (hung from the nearest tree – terrible. Language there Linus) from his audience if he told people to uninstall honey as it would help him (he keeps the commission) and hurt his audience (they would lose the honey bemefits). He reckons people wouldn't like him. Making money. This is the same person who puts YouTube addsense, 2 x sponsor slots, lttstore/merch mention in every video. I think his audience accepts this fairly well as there are never any comments about too many adds in his videos.

Finally, Luke and Linus think the audience don't remember what YouTube was like 4 years ago but that there memory of it is perfect. Therefore we don't understand the context but they do.

Strange behaviour over this. Makes me Wonder if there is more to this than meets the eye

  14. I've kept Honey installed on my main stationary PC until today when i saw the LegalEagle video class action lawsuit video… I don't think i have used Honey in the last few years but kept it installed because why not, i could save me money some day, but now… F**k Honey.

  15. the biggest selling point of PayPal is the buyer and seller protecion, however PP take rate for that is just nearly as bad as AMEX xards with around 3%+x cent

  16. Dont class action. Directly sue. They have logs. They know precisely how much they ripped from ya.

  17. I picture that lab diamond machine as being up there with something like a high-end ASML EUV semiconductor fab machine, its one of those things where the headline price doesn't matter so much because just having the money isn't enough to be able to actually set up a factory to produce these things.

  18. I get why people criticize lawyers for being vultures during class action lawsuits. I understand it can be scummy for some. But to play the devil's advocate, let's not forget that lawyers with the biggest cuts of the payout are those that also do the work for free, even shelling out for court fees at times. So yes, it may look terrible if they get a large chunk of the payout, but at the same time, they also could potentially lose thousands if not close to millions if they lose. If they lose, that's professional fees, court fees, and lost revenue from foregoing other more winnable cases down the drain.

I know class action suits rarely permanently damage their targets, but I think it's a fair recourse for getting back what was damaged from the victims, even if the payout is tiny because of the chunk that lawyers take.

Let's not forget, there are some small wins here and there, like getting Monsanto to pay out 2 Billion for their weed killer that ended up causing cancer.

What Honey did wasn't deadly, but it might as well be equally as scummy. I'd rather let the lawyers win hundreds of millions than let Honey keep the revenue they stole.

  19. The Problem is that a Heatpump need a lot of electricity and in Germany electricity is expensive. In conclusion is a Heatpump in Germany without Solarpanel extrem expensive.

  20. I don't use PayPal, to bad

  21. Gaming on Apple will be a meaningful choice only when Valve ports Proton to it…

  22. I wasn't mad at Linus in this whole honey debacle until I saw this video. The smug egoistic way he tries to avoid taking accountability, how his recounting is all about "me me me", about how he throws out random football metaphors to try and justify it- and the multiple times they kinda imply that blowing the lid off a corporate scandal is in itself sketchy?

The title says it all, he can't believe he's still talking about Honey because he doesn't understand why people could possibly be upset at him. He took actions to prevent himself and save face because he didn't want to look bad, and now that it's blown up in his face he just can't believe it.

  23. Sorry Linus, I could tolerate all of the controversies, but saying The Great Gatsby was better than Hadestown is over the line.

  24. 0.7 myself … Also back when I had to do sketches regularly for work 0.3 – 1.1 were all kept on hand to have different sizes for conveying details.

  25. PayPal is good because they insure the transaction / pay you back if you get scammed. Number one reason I use it over other apps.

  26. All the best of the Star Wars movies are 4 5 6 and I know em as 1 2 3… THERE I SAID IT!

  27. the skit on the stupid angry user on it being TOTALLY DIFFERENT is so on point man lmao
