How about amd 7000 series can support the motherboard b550?
Still worth the move for me. X370 with a 3900x. A 5950x and new board is a dead platform. This video plays down a lot of new features and technology.
100% worth all the cash. If in a year the 8950X is way faster, you already have the platform to drop it into.
I'll probably just buy a 5800x when the new ones come out, or a bit after when people stop buying them and the price slows down. I just did a GPU, PSU, Case upgrade, so i'm good for a while on my CPU and possibly Mobo
This new tech is crazy expensive….I'm gonna probably ge a i5 12400 and rtx 3050 with 16gb cl16 3200mhz ram…..I expect to still be running this system for at least 6 years or more !
Ddr5 is so annoying its literally gonna cost as much as the CPU for dam ram

Loved the longevity of the AM4 platform, as opposed to Intel's habit of changing sockets every 2 generations. Coming from a guy that owns both platforms.

Iām looking into hopping into getting a PC to game. Iām looking for a setup thatāll let me play open world maps specifically. I play other games also. In general I think open world maps take a lot more to play with FPS. Can you list what I world needs for a rig if I went forward with getting a Gaming PC. Would like to have a red/black color theme. Question pc centric, I am building a pc very very soon and I am set to get the gigabyte rtx 2060 12gb. Is the graphics card too good I am expecting over 100 fps on games like apex and cod, fortnite too on 1080p low to medium settings.

Very few of us are cpu bound. Money better spent on graphics card.
Still rocking a Ryzen 7 3700x aha, it's doing me well! May upgrade to a 5800x first and then wait until the 8000 series to arrive before changing platforms š
bios doesn'tĀ post, wontĀ show on monitor it just says no signal
its connected via hdmi
everything else works im notĀ sure why this happens
when i connect to a tv bios appears just not on my pc monitor
additionally, sometime ill be playing a game and my whole system reboots, i do see this happen more often when i need to update my amd 5700xt drivers
even then it randomly happens as well but very few in betweenĀ

Meh, I'm staying with AM4 for the next 2-3 years at least, not worth the cost in real world gaming IMO. DDR5 way to expensive and again very little gain. Early adopters will get reamed hard as usual.
I think the 7000 series of ryzen will be really expensive, as said, ddr5, PCIe 5, all new things.
I wonder what amd will have for those with a lower budget
