59.99/69.99 for a game that's premium has become the standard. Xbox Series X and PS5 games cost have this price point with 4K 120hz capabilities. Nintendo charges the same price for a significant drop in quality.
We want parity with the current Gen consoles right? Yet this parity comes with a $20 price hike? The cost of switch games was already high for the performance provided. Now it costs more?
The cost of the console makes sense. The cost of games does not.
A game that costs $99.99 should include all DLC already.

Considering it's got an Ngreedia chip, the 1080/4k and 120Hz will only be hit with DLSS and fake frames. That plus more expensive games and the TERRIBLE online service means it'll still be a bad console imo
Wait, so you HAVE to buy an annual subscription to use it, or not? I'm confused.
In the UK you have you have to have 2 years online membership continuously by 31/03/2025 to be able to buy directly from Nintendo.

Remember when Nintendo increased the price of Zelda games because "it was just so packed with content it's worth it"? I didn't think it was worth it back then either because BotW sucked, but Nintendo was first on increasing the prices before too. I want to like the Switch 2 because the line up looks like it's gonna be the best console in a long while, but it also seems like they're doing a Icarus.

There just aren't enough Wins vs the Losses for this console for me personally. WINS: hardware update, mouse features, chat features, Games (Ok not for me but someone out there is going to be excited about some of those games)
Losses: Price inc the peripherals, Paid tech demo??????, potentially proprietary SD Card, the fact you cant use your old SD Card, Suspect that camera will be proprietary and you cant use a standard USB-C Webcam for example, locking GameCube behind the Switch 2 paywall, Game cost.
Not only does this feel like just a revised original Switch, like the Switch 2025 Edition rather than the next gen of console from Nintendo I really feel they have missed the mark with their actual customers. Parents. Yeah ok its the kids and us big kids that want the console but on the Whole parents are buying these things. How, given the state of the world today does a single Mum/Dad/Guardian justify a switch 2, Controller and say 1 game for an Xmas present and good lord what if you have several kids???
I also agree with Lynus that Nintendo needs to release far more information on how it is going to keep its target audience, Kids, safe when using chat features.
Im a grown Nintendo fan with a good job and wage, this console is going to have to be seriously considered against Other portable console because for the same rough price I could get an Asus Rog Ally and have a much more powerful system. There just isnt enough in this system update for me to justify spending all that money for what i feel is a minor upgrade to my original switch. IDK just my humble opinion.

Nintendo is the most consumer unfriendly company on the planet. Their console might be the cheapest but you have to buy a ton of accessories for ludicrous amount of money, plus low quality controllers that get drift after less than a year and are ofcourse not covered by insurance, plus first party games that never get discounted. And now on top of that you get highest priced games in the industry, and they hold off the OLED version until they make sure everybody bought the LCD one.
Such a crappy company.. honestly i cant even be excited for their games due to how much i hate them.

So it has a screen that’s lower res than a phone or tablet. A processor that’s slower than a phone or a tablet. Controllers that attach to it, like the ones you can attach to a phone or a tablet. And some games that could run on a phone or tablet from about 5 years ago. But you get to pay huge prices for every single thing. But at least it has a chat function, because phones don’t have that…
