The 3070 would still be a great card today if it had 12GB of VRAM
But 8GB was just not enough to make it last as long as I wanted it to, it starting hitting limits way sooner than I would have liked
8GB card absolutely have a place today for those that want cheap esports machines
But I would be avoiding anything today with less than 16GB for a more serious gaming rig
8GB VRAM IS and WILL NOT be enough. Indiana Jones Circle of Fate issues a warning once textures are set above lowest setting on 1080p. 8GB VRAM may be enough for Fornite and League, but any Single Player gaming card should aim for minimum 12 GB VRAM.
I went from 3060ti 8gb to 4070 super 12gb and I noticed a huge diffrence
I was using an RX 560 which only had 4 GB of VRAM , to be honest it wasn't that bad with GDDR5 Memory ( those where the good all days) 😅
24GB is generally enough for VRChat, but I have seen it struggle.

Do your own research on the games you want to play instead of blindly listening to other people
but me having minimum salary who doesn't experience having gpu must start somewhere, that's why i bought rx 6600 that time in year 2025 due to budget
I want to play GTA 6 at 8K minimum
16gb doesn't necessarily mean its a 4k card for example the 5060 ti aint a 4k card other factors matter to

In regards to VRAM, should i get the 5080 to build a PC or should i wait for their Ti Super or Super counterparts in order to get better VRAM?
I will not purchase a graphics card with less than 16gb ever again unless i have a very specific reason.
No one worry about anything except which game to play on console 💪😂

My 3080 still produces amazing graphics—1440p all on high or ultra settings with really good FPS— and I only use about 8 or 9 gigs of VRAM.
You'd be surprised at how good a game can look and run with 8-10 gigs.
