Comments

  1. Watching this for the second time in 2025, Luke saying there's lots of developer jobs sounds a bit empty thanks to AI, (Apogies for bringjng AI up)

  2. Bananas

  3. I was just thinking about it now, and idk if you guys will see this, but you could possibly try to do gun bluing, also not sure if that's supposed to work with stainless, but it is the actual metal "rusting" , but with a +4 oxygen instead of +3 like red rust, and this is magnetite, so it likes to stay put better I tend to think. Again in the case of firearms only, it may not work that way with stainless

  4. eh ive seen other "internet famous people" and i usually just treat them like everyone else shit ive ran into a few spicy creators lately

  5. When Linus spoke the the community about the harassment of the previous tenant I felt like he was scolding me and as if I'm working for him as if I'm the soul reason for this hearing🤣🤣🤣I had no part in it sir

  6. Tbf in the US redoing black Cerakote would be easy af, huge market for that already thanks to custom firearms Cerakote jobs

  7. i have 2 buddies working at AWS for awhile. One help start that video service … what it that called again?

  8. I vote for Vancouver Washington lol I’d move there so quick to work for you.

  9. About Kaleidoscape, they offer losless "unpacked" videos, like they dont pack it so much as netflix and other streaming platforms.

  10. There are entire citys today, because of that type of "ship people in" type business model. Think about the Ship yards from WWII.. Like Virginia Beach, or the Hoover Dam, or whatever. They created Citys, and put money back into people pockets, which started other supporting businesses, like corner stores, doctors, Emergency Services, and so on…

  11. I don’t get how he can get this far and have no idea that making a video like that walkthrough would mobilize his slower minded followers to do dumb things… dude, is this day 1 of the internet for you?

  12. Luke/Linus: I strongly suggest before you talk about 25 being over the hill for eSports and quote that absolutely trash study about reaction time slowing down after 24 that you look into what they studied and the conclusion they reached. Yes, reaction time slows with age. No, it does not significantly change in your 20s, 30s or even 40s. I am in my 40s now and my reaction time is virtually identical to when I was tested as a teenager and in my early 20s when I was playing competitive eSports.

That study was not measuring people's reaction times, nor were they looking at raw vs effective reaction time. Their conclusion was formed based on looking at the APM of various ranks of Starcraft players, and frankly they drew the wrong conclusion because the data did not show a statistically significant causal link between age and APM, but what it did show is that high rank players tend to have higher APM and therefore reaction time. Shocking right? (Not so much).

Also, if you look at the CSGO professional scene many of the same people who were top players a decade ago are still top players today well into their mid/late 30s in a game where reaction times matter more than virtually every other genre of eSport. If age really mattered when it came to reaction time those players would not still be competitive with people in their late teens and early 20s, yet they clearly are and it isn't due to experience outweighing mechanical ability either since CSGO is essentially a "solved" game. There are meta shifts, but the concepts and strategies don't change much.

This topic is a major pet peeve of mine, so I apologize but I got a bit triggered when Luke quoted that study and clearly has no idea of it's veracity or content.

  13. No just jamming in I think the most important video would be proud of probably the first video you ever did because without the first one you wouldn't have so many great ones

  14. I mean seriously who's the geek on the left I only tune in to see Luke.

  15. imagine Linus performing 500 interviews a year to find 120 qualified hires.

  16. most commercial sqft is based by floor space. This means 1rst floor 2floor ect..ect

  17. We are obviously going to end up with Amazon company towns importing staff that devolve into exactly the robber-baron timeline yet again… thanks cyclical boom-bust exploitation-based capitalism…

There's a great free doc here on Youtube by YT channel: Knowing Better about company towns. Looking forward (not) to the future Amazon Town Massacre.

  18. I worked for UPS about 10 years ago it sucked so. I never wanted work for amazon

  19. this is random but here’s a suggestion for LTX, they should have make it like a comic con where the staff members have their own panels like a channel super fun panel with dennis, a graphic design panel with sarah. then have photo op and autograph sessions with the staff members

  20. The 30xx Series of GPUs had the best MSRPs I can recall. Just an absolute shame that nobody could get their hands on them at MSRP… If the 40xx series is nothing similar to that, I'll be pretty sad. But its not like I'd ever get my hands on one anyway. Scalpers in recent years have destroyed nearly every facet of Tech, to the point where I actively wish harm on scalpers.

  21. nope that purple one looks perfect for a drag queen. I am a "MAN" . I have no mental defects. I would never wear that HELL NO!

  22. Amazon. Great with packages, shit with employees 🙂

  23. Amazon's whole business model is to keep burn through employees physically until they cannot take it anymore and quit. This also helps prevent unionization.

  24. Animated? I would have to say Heavy Metal as a teen Robotech as a child.

  25. 150% turnover, it must be a truly horrible place to work.

  26. As someone who actually works at Amazon…I'm honestly not surprised

  27. They already have that 'imported worker program' at Amazon. They bring workers in, keep them in RV parks/camps. That already occurs. Some get RVs and live right outside the warehouses but many just stay at the camps and take a bus there.

  28. Google employees work an average of 35 hours a week

  29. crypto can be the wild wild west its your money but you do have to secure it

  30. You’re an idiot if you harassed anyone. Wtf is wrong with y’all.

  31. I've worked in the mobile game industry, but small studios that worked for huge companies (it was very common, dunno now). Stressful, exciting, you learn a crazy lot (specially in small studios), but for me not worth it in the long run, terrible life balance with a gazillion extra hours (often unpaid hours), as dunno in the US, but in my EU country the payment tends to be just like any other low end IT job. Even if I happened to make all the graphics of five 2D games in a year, and half the graphics of the six 3D ones we created in the same year (many years ago, phone games were less ambitious than today, but still…), despite that crazy amount of work, stress and responsibility, the payment was terrible, and we did not really had a life. Often sleeping at the office, weekends fully wrecked, etc. Working as graphic designer for web and print for a regular software company after that, did seem to me so much paradise in comparison with the 4 game dev studios, that I lasted 7 years in that software dev company. I believe it is radically different from country to country, though.

  32. Amazon will need to change or fail, unless they are deemed to big to fail. In a true free-market, they wouldn't get bailed out for unsustainable practices.

  33. Don't feed the trolls. Whoever the harasser was, is now absolutely leaking with excitement that you addressed him directly… I think I need to go change my pants.

  34. It's funny Linus has never been on the internet

  35. 1:54 So sorry to hear that man… Being a farm manager (therefore semipro mechanic/welder/plumber/carpenter/jack of all trades) I know that alot of the contractual breaches that you specifically mentioned, are quick, easy, and cheap, to fix, if the right supplies, tools, and people, are already available (employed). If the company or employees assumed that another industrial production company took over, I can understand how they could have estimated only a couple thousand dollars (or way less!) and a few hours of work to fix and replace the contractual shortcomings you pointed out in your video – bloody annoying and a waste of time for you, the buyer (i.e. not cool man!), but fairly quick, cheap, and easy. For instance, the safety railing would take take 5-10 min to fix it, including welder setup, if you have a welder+the proper skills and certifications (?don't know the rules outside EU/AUS/NZ?).
Good to hear they are reasonable and easy to talk to – luckily most people are! Respect for your way of handling it, and just know that 99,9% of your 15+ million fan base are reasonable and would never do this:D Hope the 0.1% didn't cause too much trouble…

  36. Why do some Canadians sound like Kermit The Frog.

  37. I wish you hadn't created floatplane. I FUCKING HATE PAYWALLS.

  38. 37:15 "I'm not famous, I just run into young dudes" and "the odds are better that I am known" or …. one might say…. famous to that demographic
    Famous: "Known by many people"

  39. Linus, the headspace of the people doing the harassing is: "Finally, I have what I think is a legitimate reason to get in someone's face, be aggressive and rude, and cause trouble for them, while feeling good and justified about it!" In other words, they were looking for a fight, and you helped them find one. Some people just like fighting for any reason they can find.

On a different note, $333k CAD for 2000sqft sounds pretty nice, considering commercial real-estate is expected to generate profit daily. I had to spend $360k USD for a 1900sqft townhouse.

  40. Vancouver BC is great if you’re not into staying alive! Cause ya know self-defense is illegal there now! Gold star Canada!

  41. You need proprioception in robots, tactile feeling

  42. You forgot to talk about Google's AI?

  43. 14:55. Giant food stores has robots that are this useless. All it does is roam the store all day and sound the PA system about a cleanup and 60% of the time there's actually nothing there maybe a shelf item triggered it Idk. 30% of the time it's a skid mark on the floor and 10% actual debris though it's usually a small piece of cardboard from the stockers or onion skins I've yet to see a wet cleanup or spilled product

  44. good job condemning the bad behavior

  45. The way you stop it? You don't let your fan base know when someone has wronged you. You cannot stop your viewers from trying to go after them.

As much as it pains me to say that, it's just how it is.
