$30 a month for game pass is a bargain you all are thinking the wrong way. That is not expensive at all
nope, Xbox is done. no competition for Sony PlayStation, I just hope the lack of rivalry & competition doesn't cause Playstation's downfall.
At $30 I will just buy the games on steam and have them permanently in my library. I've unsubscribed, not worth it anymore.
Gamepass supposedly making tons of money and CEOs cashing million-dollar bonuses while at the same time hiking prices up and laying off 10 percent of lower-level employees is S tier greed. How about instead of laying off 10 percent of workers, the CEOs each take a 10 percent pay cut from their bonuses?

I think sony has done so well because of their last generations success. I know I swapped from Xbox to playstation at the end of the last generation and I wont go back for 2 reasons the games although like you say they havent been great this generation and the big one is crossplay. I hate crossplay on the Xbox lets use cod for an example, you can't turn it off or just remove PC so you are stuck playing against hackers. Not that turning off gets rid of all of them as you still get cronos users but you can definitely tell when crossplay has been turned back on.
They probably just want to meet the unrealistic perpetual target revenue growth for Microsoft.

I believe gaming is currently in danger of a global economic shutdown, as Nintendo is being excessively greedy and not letting us own our own hardware. Therefore, I am out, and that is after telling friends and family to get a Switch 2. Now, I’m telling everyone to boycott the Switch 2 altogether and get something else. Xbox is being terrible with uncalled-for price hikes, and PlayStation is also following Xbox in their price increases. Therefore, PC may be the only option, and mobile games are also gaining traction now, so it’s possible that the whole gaming industry may crash soon to make way for a new lineup.

I am going to remain loyal to my laptop and to my steamdeck. They have served me well and will keep serving me into the future as i do not intend to play every single new release.
Might even switch to steam os entirely on laptop as well, as i got sick of the windows 11 spyware soft like that copilot bull$hit and i do not want to be obligued to sign in with my microsoft account so that they can serve me with better targeted adds.

Imagine thinking a company the size of Microsoft with departments paid to do cost-benefit analysis didn't already price in the worst possible reaction to the increase beforehand and determine the result will still be profitable regardless. By all means get mad, scream, shake your fist and cancel your sub. Just know Microsoft doesn't care and they don't need you. 🤷

I had the same gamertag since 2009 when I got my 360. I only changed it once, last week, to GoodbyeXbox. Proceeded to cancel my Game Pass and traded it into Gamestop.
I have a xbox series x and im doing just fine. I dont own game pass. I dont play playstation games. I bought my console before the price increase. Which tarifs cant really be blamed on xbox. Other companies also had to increase prices. Other companies also have live services that cost a lot of money.

It was SEGA vs Nintendo for a long time and we saw plenty of innovation driven by competition.
Microsoft has always been a software company and the Japanese companies have always made the best consoles. This is nature restoring the balance and I think it's a good thing. I will die on his hill.

Xbox died in 2010 with the release of the last good Halo game, you so called gamers have had long enough to upgrade to a real ass computer instead.

ever since ultimate came out I was subscribed besides the months I needed the extra money but I always went back when I got paid and resubscribed but now. I went to core. Just so I can play online. And finding out that isn’t even worth it. The bluey game isnt even available on it? Like really. My daughter loves bluey and it’s a good introduction into video games for her. I guess I’ll just have to pay for it. Hopefully they’ll realize they messed up so I can get all the games I actually play for money that’s worth it.

I still really want Microsoft to figure this out but the fact that they cannot understand that all gamers want is great exclusives is wild. People are literally willing to forgive EA for past battlefields and ignore the Saudi acquisition and buy Battlefield 6 just because it’s actually decent.

When my last renewal at the old price goes through on the 1st of Nov, I'm turning off renewal. I'm out. That money will be better spent on Steam. I already have an overly expensive PC. The Xbox I will sell on Marketplace and put the funds towards a Steam deck.
What I haven't seen anyone talk about is their plan for Game Pass. If they are giving up on proper consoles, they are also giving up on Game Pass Ultimate. They will only be able to sell the much cheaper Game Pass PC.
I guess that's also the game pass edition you get to use on the Ally, right?

This is a little late, I'm over that news already and made peace with Xbox and Game pass mainly because I love the brand and Games are extremely expensive, game pass still is a very great deal if you play at least one new game monthly.

After Xbox saw how much Sony is profiting from selling exclusive games, they started buying companies to have a powerful roster of games. Then Covid ended and people weren't playing as much! so less revenue than they expected… no (extra) money to support the companies they bought and people got LAID OFF!
Call me crazy (cause I'm a diehard Valve fan) but Steam is the ONLY storefront in PC Gaming that is good.
Reviewers keep saying xbox is coocked , i dont think so. I beleive the next generation xbox will be very powerful hybrid console probably more than 1500 euro's and most gamers will buy it.(or i believe that would be the best strategy)

I can’t even play any of my owned games. One night all my games was in my library next morning it shows no owned games and when I try to download them it shows I need to buy them and so far everything they have tried to fix it hasn’t brought them back despite saying I do own the content and it is all on my account..
Shareholder value, the only way for the year to year profit increase is to layoff, hike prices and enshitification.
