Capitalism doesn't care about the consumer; never has. I won't say I know alternatives which are that much better, I mean it. But it is and always was a dirty game of shovelling money into few pockets which frankly doesn't deserve to be overly glorified, and I guess even im the fairly conservative realms of gaming, people must accept that. Rants aside, I am actually quite a bit worried that this whole AI bubble is gonna pop. I can well remember the dotcom crash in the early 2000s and it meant the end of many companies and a whole lot of unemployment.
lol , ram going up means cpu, motherboard, and case manufacturers get less sales . we are going to wait for windows 13 before upgrading . screw you money grabbers.
Nice short. Now lets wait until about mid 2026 when the AI bubble pops, openai goes bankrupt, nvidia stock get decimated and Micron falls over. I am absolutely certain the flip-over will hit them harder then they can possibly imagine.
If you're after DDR4 or DDR3 check Vinted people selling parts from their rigs that they've upgraded seems to mean that there's a lot of cheap kits going for free
Its not more profitable than more memory, its companies ordering things from a catalogue where the middleman needs money on top of pricing things at a business rate which is always much higher. Well then yes it is more profitable.
Thank God, I just upgraded my motherboard to an AM5 and my RAM to a CL30, 6400mhz 32 gig sticks. I think I’m good for now. I’ll check back in three years. Got it for 80$
Not gonna get me anytime soon. I run ddr2 ddr3 and ddr4 on my computers and they all have the amount of ram I want in them. So I get to sit back and watch the fire
Yeah, after 12 years, I finally upgraded my old laptop because I realized if I don't do it right this instant, things are about to get a hell of a lot more expensive.
This guy was funnier as an Intern
long before all this, i bought 32gb ddr5 for my new pc, but now i think i should've gone 64gb and then hold on for like a decade atleast
I bought 2x48GB DDR5 memory for €279 back in May. The same set today at the same vendor? €1379. Oh boy

Lucky i got 128gb ddr5 before it got expensive because now it's impossible🥲
I bought Ram for my new build for $81 Ddr5 5600mgz now it's $309. WTF!
Imma wait here with my 16gb Gskill, I can drag my machine for another 5 years playing cozy games or 2D scrollers like this war of mine.
Once this AI bs breaks. They will be back on their knees.
Data centers are already eating up water and power supply for cities and towns. Soon the public is going to riot.
Can someone do something? The governments should force them to produce more RAM .
Can't wait for the AI bubble to burst and take some of these vultures down with it.
So its greed
Thankfully i bought my 16gb ddr4 ram this year
My ram died last Saturday , going to the mall right now to buy new ones , pray for me
It is greed. They could up production in a matter of weeks but they choose not to out of greed
My ram was 180 dollers its now 800 freaking dollers and its sold out like thank god I got it early.
i have to buy some servers at work and the ram is the most expensive line item. might have to figure out how to compress ram.

Not the eBay 🫠

Saint Luigi, we need you.
It's like TP during lockdown
bought 32gb of corsair ddr5 a few months ago for £90, same kit today is priced at £370. "Doubling" is an understatement these prices are ridiculous
It's the Usual Culprit
I mean its kinda time for me, my pc still has ddr3.
but i guess i can wait a few years…

Same what happened to gpus 😢
Good thing I thought ahead
RIP tech quickie
I could take the RAM out of my year-old build, sell it, and make a new build (with no RAM)
Thank God, I just upgraded my motherboard to an AM5 and my RAM to a CL30, 6400mhz 32 gig sticks. I think I’m good for now. I’ll check back in three years. Got it for 80$
Everywhere I look is a series of economic bubbles. It's going to be a very, very bad day when they all pop.
This is market manipulation by big companies.
shame they’re taking the prices out on us consumers and not price hiking the companies buying it… stupid honestly …. 😑🙄😒
When it's my time to bulid a pc , the world has a problem
Not doubling. I bought my 64 gigs of ram for $180. Same kit is now $700. It's more than tripled
After taking tax payer money. Crazy.
Not gonna get me anytime soon. I run ddr2 ddr3 and ddr4 on my computers and they all have the amount of ram I want in them. So I get to sit back and watch the fire
My 1 ram stick just died a week ago TvT
I checked the ram sticks I bought last year DDR5 32gb. The price has increased 280% 😂😂
Just when i wanted to build my first pc after saving for a long time
untill the ai bubble pops.
RAM pricing are not Doubling.
It's Tripling & Quadrupling.

WAIT WHAT CRUCIAL IS SHUTTING DOWN?????
