We flew to Japan to tour KIOXIA’s Yokkaichi Plant; a facility the size of approximately 98 soccer fields that uses state of the art automation to build the flash memory that may just live in your pocket. See how they do it in this very exclusive look inside one of the world’s largest flash memory manufacturing facilities.

jaw dropping. SUPER amazing video, great job LMG!
why not use graphene for the chips. they would have 1,000x surface area to work with along with way better conductivity. silicon has reached it's limits already.
Can you bring back setup doctors
i more interested in that jacket haha
i want one
At least here in Japan, kioxia drives and SD cards are usually priced more competitively than other brands.
Linus is holding some countries GDP on his hand
Seeing Linus wearing a Asian sized jacked and it still being too big 😅
Kioxia Pro is trash, health detoriariting fast
When your flab has sub-flab
Damn. This is insane. Imagine putting this much effort into something else.
Am going to just wait for AI to start taking all the Storage 😂😂😂 they already took all the RAM, next all CPU manufacturers will start making 256 cores for AI only
Epic
It was 8 years ago already?…
This is so awesome, so neardy. What they do is verry impressive!
Really? Right in the middle of my memory shortage?
Tell me that you are sponsored, without telling me that you are sponsored …
1:10 Bro dropped himself. How the turns have tabled.
its insane to comprehend the sizes of just everything
crystal to computer you can't tell me this isn't alchemy
Heres me spending most of the video thinking, “that jacket is really cool” 😂
You forgot to ask them to make some DDR for us!
30tb ssd cost $6200 1PB would cost $200k. All I am asking for is 20tb 22tb 24tb 26tb 28tb drives that could be 80% more stable and last for a min of 25 to 28 years. I do not need 35tb+ drives.
How the hell did people figure this out with the silicone seed and the platters and the lithography, and even knowing how to build the architecture let alone that it would work in any way , it's insane
12:53 I can't believe you just made such a smooth seque into "Backside Grinding" without laughing.
01:04 – 40ies coming closer. Don't worry: it will get shit at 45. 😏
Great
The force is strong in me downloading my entire pile of shame.
consider to buy private jet instead
I believe they could easily offer such drives for a fair price but they won't because they can just gradually keep increasing sizes and speeds and make more money
10:00 bruh they so kawaii… 😂
It's confirmed, Kioxia are crazy as they let Linus "clumsy hands" hold very expensive wafers and other stuff 😉
リーナス日本来てたの!?
I normally never comment on videos but the recent factory tour videos have been amazing. Please keep doing these!
Ain't no way I just saw a YouTube intro 😭
Those wafers look like the hdd platters I used to see in old hard drives. How technology has changed.
So you´re telling us mass storage is going floppy again.
Is that jacket available on sale?
Linus: showing 4x245TB drives
Me: thinking about buying 3x1TB for my homelab…
Great video!
Can't wait to hear about a GPU modifier giving their GPU 2Tb of VRAM.
drives that will cost a fortune because of NAND flash demand even in the data center space
