A lightning bolt slammed directly ontop of my head while I was gaming, it was storming really bad so I was going to jus unplug the whole surge protector but I was greedy and kept gaming. Tons of devices in our house were completely fried my gaming laptop still runs like a beast except NONE of the usb ports work or the usb c port. Also the built in keyboard doesn’t work anymore. I’m just sick and tired of not being able to use my usb ports so I’m gonna buy a pc because I never move my laptop I just keep it hooked up to my monitor. Seems like for $1500 I can get a nice upgrade from my 1660ti. It’ll be nice to not have to worry about my intel cpu melting through the bottom of the laptop, straight through my floor and all the way down to the core of the earth. If there’s a bad storm UNPLUG YOU SH*T A SURGE PROTECTOR IS NOT MEANT TO PROTECT FROM A DIRECT LIGHTNIGHT STRIKE LEARN FROM ME PLEASE PLEASE
I am so happy that I upgraded to MSI Cyborg 15 RTX 4060 8 GB rn
Hey, great vid as always,
Been watching your builds for a while — quick question / experience.
I’ve had multiple GPUs (5070 and 5080) die in a short space of time (different models), all showing similar issues (no POST/Display outpu). PSU and system have been checked, temps fine, and parts were new.
Was really hoping you had any clues as to why this is as I am so nervous to buy another gpu.
( I am from india )Should I get rtx 5080 or 5070 ti in few days please tell me I am confused which will be beneficial in future for atleast next 5 years accordingly to this graphics card crises or wait for super? And there prices are increasing like hell here in India please tell me fast
Got lucky and bought ram way back when and have an extra back up stick of 16gb
currently future proofed my whole set up with a 9800X3D and a RTX5090 at msrp before the spike in prices
Guys, I was looking for a good oled monitor , and that’s how I found your channel! Amazing videos, I’m not native eng speaker, but it’s so comfortable to watch you. Btw I bought ASUS XG27AQDMG, thanks to you. Wish you more views
one word "PEAK"
I heard that 5060 16g 5070 and 5070ti had all been dropped now.
first
The RTX 5070Ti just got discontinued 🥲
DDR4 Poor people PC
DDR5 Rich people PC
I know half the fun is building it yourself but if you really want the best PC for the money – buy local from people in your area. LOTS of people are in need of money and a gaming pc is one of the first things to go. Just be patient for either a generous person or someone who just doesn’t know what they have. That is where you find the truly insane deals.
300€ for a 6000Mhz 32+32 memory, 4 months ago. Today it is around 1000€ for the same thing! (IN 4 MONTHS!!!)
I bought a motherboard combo at new egg during BF which wasn't too bad. I wen with amd am4. $200 for asus tuf b550 and 32gb of ram. Microcenter has some nice amd 5 bundles.
I built this to see me through the dark times:
Asus Hyperion GR701 case (black)
Intel i9 285k
32GB Corsair 6000Mhz DDR5
Asus Strix Z890-F motherboard
4TB Gen 5 nvme SSD
Asus Astral 5090 OC
Asus TUF Gaming1000 watt PSU
9070>5070 😢
Legit been running a 5600x with a 5600xt gpu. I wanted to upgrade but just going to wait it out now 😭
Is 4800Mhz DDR5 good enough? is the only one affordable for like 150 USD
Just built my first pc decided to try and future proof myself a bit and went with a 9800x3d and a 5080.
Given my budget and the current ridiculous RAM prices, I had two options: either DDR5 with an RTX 5070 or DDR4 with an RTX 5070 Ti. I couldn’t justify paying €400–500 for RAM tbh, so I decided to go with DDR4 and spend the extra money on the 5070 Ti. I can’t wait to get the parts and build my first PC, hopefully it was the right decision though. 😅
I know you did the best with what's available but that mid range build is so overpriced it's insane.
A week before Xmas I got myself a pre built with a 7800x3d, 9070xt, 32gb DDR5 6000, 2TB gen4 SSD, and 850w PSU for $1499 USD.
Now with current pricing I feel like I got incredibly lucky with that deal and would absolutely refuse to pay current pricing and go with the budget am4/ddr4 or just get a steam deck.
Hey, I’m building my first gaming PC on a low budget. I really like your content and how you help people. If you ever have an old GPU you don’t use anymore, I’d be incredibly grateful. 😄
Why no shout for the 9060 XT 16gb for the mid range build?
hi. i found the following used build at arround 600 EUR, which with the current prices seems more than excellent. would you please share your opinion : gigabyte a620m s2h Am5 + AMD Ryzen5 8500g + RAM 16Gb DDR5 6000mhz XpG + SSD M2 ADATA Legend 710 256 + RX 5700XT 8GB XFX Thicc III Ultra + AIO 240 + rgb thermaltake 5 coolers argb + 750 deepcool 80 Bronze
Better presentation than usual.
That 9070 was $40 more, but definitely better according to Gamer's Nexus 9070 written review I just read. If it wasn't for AI, the high end build could've been a 5070ti or 5080 + 9950x3D for the same money. And that's just bare two months ago! So still affordable builds, but not nearly as much bang-for-the-buck right now.
I wish the high end system wasn't still constrained by financial common sense. I do think there is a meaningful difference in performance between a 9070 xt and 5090.
I think PSU technology has gone backwards. Surely there should be a way to use AI to allow PSUs to act like RAM. Then we would have RAM issues.
I'd actually say, if you can, at those prices, just go console or "fixed" hardware, like Steam Deck. Its not a good time to build a new rig.
FSR 4 is supported in 200+ games now. You are giving out outdated information
lian li vector is also a good midrange case comew with argb fans and a nice design if ur looking for something different. I was able to build my new pc right before the new year . thankfully I have a microcenter near me. I was able to get a bundle deal on cpu motherboad and ram for 550. could have saved a lot on the build but i wanted a really expensive case cuz i had the money so why not
i picked up a used 5600x mobo 16gb 3200 ram and cpu cooler for $150. im looking for either a $150 3060 12gb, $250 3080 or $350 5060ti 16gb
Honestly brother, this is a fab video, would love a video where you build a budget pc. I am currently wanting to build one for about £500-£600, but I honestly have no idea where to start.
