First of all, as a first time Desktop owner since this winter. I will say this was super informative! I actually understand for yhe most part how to build a PC now.
Secondly, Wow have prices risen! I bought my prebuilt RTX 5080 Desktop this last Christmas for around $2200. Only a month and a half later and $2500 can only build 9070 ti desktop….
These PC companies are not good faith actors.

Guys looking at buying a pc around 2k. Very have a 7800x3d 9070xt for £2000, or looking at one from scan at £1950 for a 9700x 5070ti…. thoughts? Im not into building…id rather buy one ready to go
I was thinking about building a pc and also saved money for that but the ram shortage destroyed everything.
I just built this almost exact spec for £1550 in the UK, in a microATX format. I jumped on the RAM in late December on the way up on the RAMpocalypse and got a great deal on the GPU.

I built a very similar rig last year with an R5 7600 cpu and 5070ti. It cost 1000 less. The markets cooked right now.

I have that exact kit of ram in my very mid-range 1440p build that I bought for $110 a year and a half ago. Didn’t actually build the PC until a month or so ago but I’ve never been so glad for making a slightly impulsive/premature purchase 😂

Man I really wished I upgraded a few months ago… I have a gtx 1080 and i7 7700k, safe to say they are struggling. This pc has been going strong for 7 years and now its on its last legs getting constant crashes, have to have absolutely everything minimized to run anything, most weeks i'm diving through pc fix tutorials as she just doesn't want to start at times and I can't upgrade on my student budget haha.
I don’t understand this trend for white builds. The RGB looks shite in a white build. Oh, and you have a black monitor and keyboard. Just does my head in.
Can someone explain why you shouldn't use 4 ram sticks of ddr5 on a mainboard? What is issue?
If you want to stick with white but need a bit of a cheaper option for the motherboard you could get the Gigabyte Aurus Elite Ice
