  2. Would it be weird if I put my Playtracter profile in my resume?

  3. Arch linux for gaming

  4. Linus is smart. Just use whatever you have it will work. Also Ubuntu is not the best distro but is comfortable to use. Arch Linux is fastest for games but Ubuntu is quick too and friendly like any Linux.

  5. in day-to-day usage I'm much happier with the 265k igpu, than the terrible drivers for 1070… I use the 1070 exclusively for vm and ai now

  6. BazziteOS please

  7. I completely understand that there will always be a "you should have done this instead of that with Linux", but I am hoping others will also agree, making a GPU for gaming on linux video, to test latest hardware, Ubuntu LTS was really the wrong choice. Not taking away anything from the video, but non Linux folks will see the video and might wanna try switching to Linux gaming so the team should with the recommended distro from the community. Ubuntu uses old packages to maintain stability as it is widely used in servers. So the team should have taken a disto with newer package update cycles, I use Fedora and have experienced rock solid stability with it so biased of course. But newer packages are a mandate for new hardware as Nvidia is fixing their drivers. As well as other vendors. Also have easier methods to get drivers for Nvidia. Just a suggestion not a rant. But I am really happy big tech channels are talking about gaming and performance on Linux and quantifying like GamersNexus and LTT

  8. You should do Zorin! it's amazing for gaming. It's better for gaming compared to Bazzite.

  9. I dont understand some things here. First im someone who is on linux more than 5 years now. I dont understand what problem you have with windows.. When i was using windows i had no issues at all, performans was flawless, stability was great, compatability also great. So i dont get what you dont like. My problem was that windows is spying on me, and i have no opcion to run it off. Also i didnt like that windows is pushing stuf on me that i dont want and like. But mostly privacy was my biggest issue with windows. On linux, i got everything, freedom to do whatever i want and privacy out of the box. And i was ready to give away almost all the gaming in the world for that. But luckily i didnt have to, minecraft was working on linux than same as on windows and that was my favorite game, dota 2 and cs go were working also the same so i didnt have to give up gaming because games that i play were available on linux also. Ark survival evolved and age of empires also so i realy had it all on linux. But today situacion is even better, aldou its far from perfect but most games work on linux with no problem thanks to compatability layer named "Proton". So its realy good to switch to linux today, but if you dont get privacy problems than i realy dont see why wouldnt you just use windows…

  10. watching this video with 2 weeks into Nobara and I am loving it <3

  11. I‘ve been using LTSC since it was still LTSB. No hassle. No MS BS. I do use Linux for ROCm AI models though, and I‘m not against using it. But for games and music/video production … fuck that.

  12. I switched from windows 11 to Nobara 43 KDE Plasma not too long ago, i have a 3070. it works fine. i actually I THINK notice less input latency sometimes, and sometimes higher frames

  13. All of the gaming distros, I want reviews of all of them 🦹‍♀️ fr, cachyos would be nice! I've got that iso sitting around on my to do list.

  14. I like mint.

  15. 0:25 ngl, while i love seeing more Linux-related stuff on here, i kinda disagree with this sentiment. i think i've barely ever seen this happen; idk if i've 'lucked out', so to speak, but i genuinely feel like the vast majority of Linux users i've met simply want to help get Linux working well wherever and whenever they can, with a desire to undo NVIDIA's nonsense, not shame people for the hardware they happen to already have. :p

  16. Wait no mention of LTTStore? I'm disappointed…

  17. CachyOS please!

  18. Manjaro and/or CachyOS is a good choice. I daily drive Manjaro and I've never had any problems with games after I got them running.

  19. I run linux mint, on a MSI laptop with a mobile rtx 3070. Required some youtubing for set up. Fixed screen tear. Now. Long term emu machine.

  20. personally i use a 3060 12gb in combination with endeavourOS, which is arch based, arch itself from my expirience has a big problem with nvidia cards, but endeavourOS it works perfectly, might need a bit of tweaking but im satisfied.

  21. Windows randomly crashing during gaming is the thing that pushed me to switch to linux. My PC was 100% stable on Win10. Win11 came around, was okay for a while, but in the past ~6 months it started crashing. I tried troubleshooting, tried literally everything I could think of… Nothing really helped. I was thinking about going back to Win10, but gave a shot to CachyOS…. Well, not going back to windows thats for sure 😀

  22. Mint is better than ubuntu, just for the sake it comes with the drivers for all the gpus talked about already in the os itself

  23. The Linux community are so Insufferable at times.

  24. I use Fedora and Nvidia 5060. Drivers installation are easy 3-4 terminal commands. Works without issues. I was ok with that until your 30% difference to Windows. However I also need card that can handle image generation, and that choice is sadly still Nvidia over AMD.

  25. Arch Linux I use, my 1080 Ti actually works really well on it.

  26. The different kernels make a world of difference in gaming performance in my testing, Like in linux mint the default kernel is much slower than the Xanmod kernel, And i think the same thing applies to Ubuntu and the default kernel that the Ubuntu 25 has.

  27. I use Fedora for over a Year now (Gaming and other Office-Stuff), maybe you can show us some tricks that i dont know yet?
CachyOS is extremely complicated (and you win 2 or 3 FPS?:) and no out-of-the-box-Support for Flatpaks, very annoying.
Bazzite on the other hand has no support for non-Flatpaks. Also too restricted for me.
And for everyone: If you have a nVidia-GPU (like me), dont use the open-source drivers, these are not ready yet. With proprietary Drivers you will have much more performance like in this video.
(written in bad english without ai-stuff-support 🙂 )

  28. I cannot speak for other users or Linux versions, but my 2017 ASUS ProArt Studiobook has the latest Nvidia drivers on Zorin OS.

  29. i cant wait to fully switch to linux, i hate being dependent to microsoft with school organization 🙄

  30. Please use Fedora KDE.

  31. More in depth tests with frametimes and cpu limited performance comparing to windows pls😢

  32. Does anyone even use Ubuntu anymore?

  33. Please try Pop! OS

  34. Thanks for this honest and unbiased Linux video. I hope you'll keep up that way !

  35. I have Garuda Dragonized Gaming cuz my friend uses it and i thought it looked cool so i would like to see it covered in a possible linux gaming distro video, also it is arch based btw

  36. You should do Bazzite, it's basically Fedora with a Steam wrapper.

  37. He bluescreened so hard even the bezels around the monitor turned blue xD

  38. <3 nice topic!

  39. Would be interesting testing different distros like CatchyOS, Ubuntu, Fedora, with windows for Blender Rendering performance.
