20:54 just use the webapp 💀 and 21:34, its prob not enough swap
Pop!OS, really? Go with Mint if you just want it to work. Go with Zorin if it needs to be a bit like Windows. Go with Bazite if you want to do gaming.
I'm so sad when on the Tech channel, guys don't know how exactly secure boot works and click on random menu options …
And choosing the PopOS when you don't have a system76 pc – a little bit strange. (but marketing of the company is really great, they successfully poisoned ChatGPT output …)
If you want a basic system for office purposes, install Ubuntu, if you need only gaming things, use SteamOS or bazzite
Most of the other OS for guys who know why they want to install them …
I had issues with Pop OS years ago when I tried to use it. Fell back to linux mint at the time. I've had no issues with Bazzite on my handheld, nor Mint 22.3 on my framework 13. I'll probably be dual booting on my desktop sometime in the next few months as well.
I like Steam because you can literally add a non-Steam game to your library on your Linux PC, even a very old executable, and it will work with proton.
CacyhOS best
may need to leave PopOS for another couple of years for it to get sorted. I think luke went with a solid pick for linux gaming. even bazitte with elijah is pretty solid.
hyprland is very good btw i use it its very easy-to-use, very configurable, and fun! 100% would recommend
There is absolutely no reason to go with PopOS, it's made as low maintenance OS on secondary computer of your third child. For a daily driver or "real" gaming there are much better distros – god damn it even stock Ubuntu will do.
the only thing linux lacks is hdmi 2.1 support
4:45 That was your own fault though. Typing that ominous warning out like a lunatic, after apt warned you that it will remove a critical system component (pop-desktop)……
6:19 Again, you screwed over yourself by intentionally overriding apt's automatic protection.
Just don't use pop at this point. I hope he tries something else. I'm with Luke using CachyOS
In Oct 2025 I switched from Win11 to Debian with KDE & XFCE environment on my 12th Gen i7 LG Gram.
Some drivers had to be manually installed, a simple process that never needed more than a single Internet search. LG has zero Linux support for the Gram, yet most things just worked on install.
No regrets. I am very happy with Debian.
I believe if the basic install and user experience is harder than Windows (not due to learning a new interface), then that distro has already failed.
im only exclusively using windows for a select few games now and when im done i simply switch off and go back to linux 🙂
Linux Distros … It just DOESN'T work (Anti Todd Howard impression ) without hours of fucking around and scouring the internet on a Windows/Mac or Android/IOS device that just works and googling how to make the linux distro that just doesnt work … work lol
For anyone thinking about switching, I would recommend ZorinOS. It has flaws, sure, but please check it out, it is (even with flsws) the absolute best OS I have ever used. Even on my absolute garbage pc, everything runs smoothly, the battery life is great, regular updates, and it can run most windows apps. Not to mention, it is soo well designed, it looks so pleasing.
unfortunetly PUBG and linux doesn't work ……
Haha that cut to Linus having 3 bugged out Steam's was hilarious.
9:22 LESSS GOOOOOO
LUKE USE ARCH BTW
i use arch btw too
Just get a normal distro like Ubuntu or Fedora if you want a good out of box experience.
as a (very longtime) linux user, I always like to see all the weird things that can go wrong. I've had my fair share of them.
That said, if you run this again a few years from now and you go Pop! again, that's on you 😀
Why did you pick poop os again😂
Steam os users…..

3:46 "if […] I wanna roleplay as a typical, tech interested gamer"
how many typical, tech interested gamers do you think have half a dozen PCs they use simultaneously, a home theater setup, their own server rack in the basement and an nvme SSD just hanging out in their pocket that they bring to the next LAN to install a new OS that they are barely familiar with? If Linus thinks he can even pretend to be a "typical, tech interested gamer", he is completely out of touch with reality, I'm afraid. I think instead of trying to make up an unrealistic pretend scenario, he should have just accepted that his experience is going to be vastly different from pretty much anybody else's and approached Linux how Linus Sebastian would actually approach it if he were to give it an honest try. Use the resources at his disposal as much as possible and let people with other needs figure out what suit them best on their own.
I made the switch to Linux as my daily driver not long ago. I was familiar with Mint from VMs and so I stayed with that. It just works. Gaming included (Mainly Steam). It may not be optimized for gaming but that only means you don’t get the latest cutting edge mesa drivers. Which actually isn’t a bad thing. It may run 3% slower but it is stable…. Maybe I’m missing something, but for all I do, it works.
19:50 I'm gonna call my wife real quick 🤣🤣🤣 🗣️🔥
Why does Linus pretend to be so stupid? He does pretend, right?
I'm so confused about Elijah,s relationship with ltt
What happened to this channel? The content has become extremely poor – full of pointless footage and a complete waste of time. It has no value at all.
Just don't use niche distros
