The “greatest gaming monitor ever” shouldn’t have as many compromises as this monitor. It’s pretty disappointing for the price
Great review, thanks. I was also holding off until 5k2K Ultrawides come out. I'm still running a pair of old Asus PG348Q's which are surprisingly still working well. The rest of my system is current tech. I think this monitor may finally be the upgrade I'm looking for. I mainly use my PC for CGI work in 3ds Max, Fusion, Vray and Z-Brush, but also game. My worry with 1st gen tech is that you are overpaying for the R&D and with no current competitors out there, LG have no reason to drop the prices. I may hold off to see what offerings come from Asus or MSI, but this looks like the perfect monitor for productivity and gaming.
Its a TUF 4k at 80hz to me. HDMI 2.1 G-sync. IPS
Looks great but I'm going to hold out for the new 45 inch version coming this year

You do better than most, with fleshing out your reviews. But without direct comparisons to other monitors or at least a rating scale, it is hard not to see this as a commercial. Especially companies providing so many free products now. I know companies that set up anything close to a "commercial" will not allow the comparisons.

Just purchased even the 3440×1440 39 inch LG OLED and IT'S AWESOME. Highly recommend.
I looked at the 57 inch LG 5k2k but they messed me around with the order so I ended up with a 55 inch Samsung TV on my desk and not going back lol.
Gonna wait another year for 240hz for this resolution
Ordered mine last month, it should be getting here between the 14th and 20th
6880×2880 at 240hz then 360 hz at 3440×1440. Glossy. That is the monitor I want to buy. 39 to 45inch 1200 to 1500 curve.

I love the monitor. And certainly appreciate your video and the effort put into it. But LGs reliability absolutely sucks. I know when i make this comment there is gonna be people say lg is the best etc blah blah. But when buy a $750 lg monitor. Then try to forgive them for the clear issues it has. Then turn around a year later take another chance on a $1000 lg monitor and it have similar to same issues. You start to realize not only do their monitors just suck. But customer service does too. I tried 5 different cables, display and hdmi, different gpus, and 2 totally different pcs to make sure the display issues were in fact the display. So it 1000% was the monitor. I just returned a 39" oled lg monitor. Thank God I got my money back and went with a more solid samsung. Not downing the specs and sheer awesomeness of having a 5k oled ultrawide. But id certainly wait til another more reliable version comes along.But you should never pay over 1700-1800 in 2 monitors for both to have issues within a few months.
