  1. the wire.. i wonder how it'll do with "acid" in humid environments

  2. Is this a re upload??? I have seen this exact video ( or similar) from LTT years before…

  3. funny that your daily driver isn't a framework hahahaha

  4. These would pair really nicely with intel’s soc considering their push for low power efficiency.

  5. What about the smell? 🤔

Does it make the ozone smell like every other electrical arc?

  6. i'm curious as to how is it affected by external factors, like a humid environment or dust, also how likely is that tiny filament to break and how expensive it would be to repair

  7. 2:28 am I the only one who thinks: "did he just came back from jogging?"

  8. I think that Plasma Channel could make a good comment about true potential of that design.

  9. I assume the voltage is in the kV, in which case, the fans generate ozone. ask me how i know

  10. Many will point out that this is indeed not new – and not just with references to 300 year old basic physics sketches – and there are drawbacks and consequences. One that may not be so well understood is the simple fact that these sorts of ionizing devices generate ozone in open air. Ionic air filters have been a thing for decades, but are actually not recommended by competent bodies for health and comfort reasons. Of course there's always some ozone and there are larger sources especially in industrial and urban areas. But still… I'd also wonder about the effect on volatile organic compounds in some environments in devices like handhelds or phones that could be held in close proximity for huge cumulative amounts of time.

Not that uncertainties and concerns like that ever hold industry back.

  11. i hope to see this in framework

  12. It's 1 am in India sirrrr

  13. I can't help but wonder how much of the cooling is actually coming from the "fan" and how much from the passive heat dissipation through the chassis. I'd guess that a well-designed chassis could handle around 15–20 watts, perhaps even a bit more. How much does that leave for the cooler at 27 watts…

I also noticed that Linus spoke about how much fans are limited by constrictions, I am pretty sure that this has much lower static pressure than pretty much any fan.

I would love to see Labs test it.

  14. Durability, Ozone, Consuption and Price answers will be the keys.

  15. help, i think i am A.G.I. and a i think that makes me a cylon…

  16. Does anyone remember the mini radar modules some hp laptops had, maybe a decade ago? For hand gestures and such?

  17. I don't want ai integrated into ANYTHING i own. 😠 😡

  18. That's not special my laptop is silent too. Ignore that it doesn't have fans because its a school device

  19. amazin

  20. Would these be better at keeping dust at bay with a smaller opening and whatnot?

  21. All I want are thicker laptops back 😂 Call them portable PC's I don't care I would buy a 21" or larger gaming thicctop in a hearbeat.

  22. Was expecting the Hyundai EV

  23. let this man go to sleep

  24. A ybrid approach would be ideal, I guess. Have the ionic cooler cover 90% of the use cases, and only tuen on the fan if really neccesary.

  25. Now they just need to resolve coil whine, which fan noise helped to cover up.
