  2. As someone that just uses their PC for programming and gaming, a linux based OS thats gaming optimised sounds quite appealing. Lets not forget the most important point, IT'S FREE! That would make it appealing to a lot of younger people building their first gaming PC.

  3. Oooh can you show it running Call of Duty, maybe BF6 or Rainbow 6 Siege? If it worked with everything and performance was closer I'd jump from Windows gaming to Linux in a heartbeat.

  4. Until anti cheat so games like COD, Overwatch, Fortnite and BF6 work it’s not going to be the future

  5. Get in Marcus….. try gaming on linux! Fedora 44 KDE. I think you'll like it👍

  6. Keep your team strong

  7. I'd love to see a comparison of SteamOS, Windows, and the most recommended Linux distros (usually Bazzite, CachyOS, and Mint). One thing that I'd like to see is how it would feel using it day-to-day – I'm not looking to keep swapping distro, if I could, after all.

  8. It makes me sad that the RAM cost more then the GPU

  9. I have a prebuilt nitro n50-650 looking for some case recommendations I can transfer everything into without having to buy a new everything

  10. Can you please tell me what keeps you going i have a channel with 70k subs and i got lazy as soon as i got monetised at 30k i do want to work on the channel but i feel like i have already achieved what i could 70k was smthg which i never even thought about i was in a bad situation and i just worked hard on the channel now that the channel got me financially stable i just left it you have 800k still you are upload why ? ( sorry for any grammatical mistakes English isnt my first language so yeah )

  11. No dual boot options with Windows right?

  12. No nvidia gpu, no dlss, no thanks

  13. Works on Nvidia cards ?

  14. Now all we need is a Android system in same format not the lazy one you get on smart boxes and life will be good

  15. I'm watching this on a Steam OS PC

  16. a in-general comparison between bazzite and SteamOS could be interesting

  17. i tried it too, i like cachyos better its mutable. I use btop and to see my gpu i need to add the amdhpu file to the system, since steamOS is immutable it is nearly impossible to add that feature. in cachyos i can adjust everything and monitor it how i want. i would suggest steamos to a basic user, its ok but needs some tweaks to be a proper desktop os. it will get better over time..

  18. Great video! I'm really happy to see you giving Linux a try. If you're looking for a console-like experience on PC, I'd recommend Bazzite instead of SteamOS. The gaming mode feels almost identical, but Bazzite is more mature for more powerful hardware. Plus, it's still a full PC, so you can do everything you'd normally do on one.

  19. 25:57 Maybe hardware encoding isn't enabled?

  20. Built my own Steambox with SteamOS 3.8.20b on Genmachine mini PC with a Ryzen 6800u + Radeon 680M iGPU, 16GB DDR5-6400 RAM and 2TB SSD. Works perfect for its price and size. SteamOS consumes less RAM than Windows. Average FPS +- equals to Windows but less stuttering, and it can suspend and wakeup with running game.

  21. 🥲🥲🥲🥲😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Tears of joy.

  22. If you do a benchmark comparison with Windows, please put special focus onto low FPS values. They define your gaming experience. Every test repeating the average fps as metric result in focus onto the wrong metric.
That said: I have a 9060XT on bazzite (linux since 2020, obviously with a different gpu) and it's slower than on windows. It's not by much but you can measure and sometimes feel the difference. Some games are running faster. Older GPUs are also much more optimized on Linux, so Linux on a RX580 for example is just insanely faster.
But I'd never go back to windows, I'd always pick linux for a gaming pc. It is a shame that your experience with the standby was so bad but in general the experience is just another level. Just boot up your machine and start gaming.

  23. you look like scott the woz

  24. that's bullsht so I can't use it with my 14900k 5090 rig shtttt man wish I still had my 7900XT

  25. The biggest reason i haven't switched yet is game mods on linux… idk how skyrim modding works over there lol.

Second biggest reason is that i'm still on a 3060 ti and i'm not trying to deal with more nvidia caused issues.

  26. I'm taking a shot everytime he says SteamOS

  27. I'd love to have a secondary boot drive with steamOS on it for some comfy couch gaming. But honestly I have been annoyed that I can't use my nvidia card (Stupid nvidia closing their shit)

  28. You downloaded the app?

  29. Gaming industries should understand that the SteamOS is the future. They should start making gaming desktop with SteamOS

  30. Hey Marcus, my name is Johnny and I’m a freelance logo designer, would you like to have a PC themed visual based logo for your channel to represent what your channel is about and you can use it as merch graphic as well? I would love to design a logo for you that you would love to use for your channel at a flexible rate. Let me know if you are interested! 🙂

  31. So question: i still have some hardware that isn’t compatible with windows 11. (R5 1600x)
If i’d put that in a living room pc, reinstall as steam os. Would it give it a new lease in life?

  32. Can you do a SteamOS vs Bazzite vs Windows video?

  33. Steam OS needs a lot of work before i would consider it a replacement for windows as a gaming only option i just hope they are going to make the investment and the sooner the better because that is what gamers want a simple OS that plays games only on their PC or laptops with out all the windows crap.

  34. The only major issue i have is no windows store games. Ive got games on there I would want to play specifically on a lounge pc.
