  1. IFA was a blast and it was my first time traveling to Europe! So if I look jet-lagged then you know why. 🤣

Hanging out with all the smart home creators and the Home Assistant team is always so much fun! Thanks to everyone who came up and said hi. You guys are so nice!

  2. Minor feedback but could you let the little title card up in corner for whole runtime of each product. By the time you say something that catches my eye I have no idea which of the Amazon links in description to click on

  3. 5:00 that UI reminds me of windows phone back in the day.

  4. Was the ThirdReality siren loud?

  5. This video auto played on my tv while I was doing something on my computer and I thought it was Tim Cook talking 😂

  6. Unfortunately Hover is going to be banned in the US. So many great Chinese products that US consumers will not have access to.

  7. Oh cool, more spyware!

  8. It was a pleasure having you with us at IFA2026!Thanks for stopping by our booth and featuring our Solar-Powered Outdoor Zigbee Repeater and Home Security System! 🙌🚀

  9. i do love Dreo but I'm so over there air purifiers. the filter are so hard to find after 1 year and then everything gets discontented so quickly. its just not worth it for the money.

  10. Wasted time showing a bird drone that didn't fly 🤦

  11. Love the creator shade at Paul, lol. I'm glad HA was popular, no way I could (or should) trust a company like LG in my house, but my local AI agents and I need more HA toys!

  12. Wow none of these are actually exciting! Also $20k for ai box?! For $5k you can get a top tier computer, run custom models, and do so much more. What is wrong with these people?!

  13. Just call IFA, IFA. Please don't dump down your viewers by assuming we don't know about IFA.

    Btw, nice video

  14. the ultra bar x looks amazing

  15. great job and interesting devices, thank you!

  16. Ive had almost zero success with soil moisture sensors. Sure they work but the data they provide is not accurate. Ive put some in a cup of water and none have ever reported moisture at 100%. Personally, they are a waste of money.

  17. 14:00 Homey Portal… a $350 controller that’s tethered to a power cord, isn’t portable at all, and can only control one zone. I’m honestly worried about Homey’s future. It’s a great system, with an excellent approach to how automations are built, but once you’re bought out by a company like LG, it stops being about the users and starts being all about profits.

  18. 10:27 Excellent news that Nanoleaf is partnering with Hue. Maybe they can learn a thing or two about how to build quality lights.

I HATE my Nanoleaf Blocks and their phantom standby power issue. I had the very first original Triangles, and they had the exact same problem. Ten years later, the Blocks are doing it too.

Even when the lights are off, and you’re in a completely dark room like your bedroom at night, once your eyes adjust to the darkness you can see a very faint green glow coming from the lights.

It’s caused by a “ghosting” effect, where a very low current is being pushed into the lights even when they are off. This causes the green diodes, which require the absolute lowest amount of forward voltage to work, to start emitting visible photons.

I don’t know if Nanoleaf’s other lights like Lines or the Hexagon panels have the same issue, but DO NOT put the Blocks in your bedroom!

When I brought this up with Nanoleaf, they didn’t care. They consider it "normal", which is the only thing they can say as it' a non fixable hardware defect and saying anything else would lead to a product recall.

Now I have to use a smart plug to automate cutting the power completely during certain hours. That makes the Blocks useless if I need them in the middle of the night, so I have to use another light instead.

It’s incredibly frustrating that the exact same problem has persisted across generations for nearly a decade.

  19. 7:25 Having to climb a ladder to swap a battery does not sound like fun. I hope they have a plug-in option.

  20. Air purifiers should be build into robo vacuum base stations

  21. dreo hittin the geekbar to show their purifier works 2:48

  22. Super cool! Nice job covering that!

  23. Ifa looks way cooler then ces imo, also a lot more affordable for me to go, might need to go next year!

  24. Great snapshot Reed – thank you. I’m just working on an NFC jukebox and would love to see an example of that ESPHome demo where it played the album art – is anyone able to point to that example yaml. Would be awesome to incorporate into my project.!! Thanks

  25. Is that LG the "we own the glass" guys?… it's a Homee that doesn't pay rent.

  26. IFA is really interesting, especially for any guy who likes to level up their smart home

  27. does the home assistant team sell those little monitors?

  28. I may be hallucinating, but I'm nearly positive I had one of those flapping wing RC birds back in the 90s. It was a blue jay. I think it was like $20…

  29. What’s the small HA dashboard display?

  30. Homey, 80% owned by LG. LG is a personal privacy and security nightmare. See the latest GamersNexus LG smart TV exposure. I'm sure you will say Homey is "independent" of LG. They own 80%, so not long now.

  31. 4:35 I miss my Lumia950

  32. That drone looked awfully shaky with its wings flapping. I can’t imagine it’s a very good platform for a camera.
