I'm a hard-core PC gamer with a 5090 on an Asus pg32 ucdm gen 3. Thank God I bought my FE a few months ago for $3200. I thought at the time I was getting ripped off(but said screw it.lol) I look on eBay now and they're like 10 grand for the founders edition. The guy I bought it from works at Nvidia and told me that they don't even have a 6090 slated; that everything is moving towards AI. I'm cool with that; as long as I get my frames and high-quality resolution I'm totally fine with AI chips

5:02 I wouldn't count on that. Fools with more money than sense would buy the gpu's even if they cost $15,000.
I've not had a high end GPU for 10 years. I even went with SLI a few times in the past. But GPUS high end HPUS have become insanely expensive.
What kicked off the insane prices was when scalpers were selling gpus at insanely inflated prices and people bought them. So amd and Nvidia saw people were willing to pay stupid money for a GPU that should be 66% cheaper.
They and their greed will finish PC gaming, pure greed on their part .
This is all self inflicted, most of you bought the Nvidia "graphics" cards because y'all didn't gave two cents about rasterized graphics performance and kept giving a single company more and more money year over year to an AI company disguised as a graphics card company.
This is why competition is important and why you should've bought an AMD Intel dGPU's. Enjoy your RTX cards while it lasts… Just make sure you got a smoke alarm in your PC. 😂

I just brought a cyberpower Ryzen 5 7500f MSI 620m 16gb ddr5 rtx 5050 650w build for £700 new didn't think that was too bad. I'll upgrade the GPU when there a bit cheaper to a 5070. Also got a 240hz 27" qd-oled for £329 there a great price ATM.

I am not paying £3000 for 5070ti with 32gb Ram. For this money i should get 5090 with 64gb of Ram.
The another stupid thing it comes to my mind is to do overtime in order to buy super hyper overpriced components just to stay at home and lose my precious time with games. The human greed will erase us from this planet.

Sooner or later, there will be a slowdown and possibly even a crash in AI/SI. Right now, they’re in a gold rush, spending massive amounts of money building data centers with hardware that will be outdated in just a few years, costing hundreds of billions for each investor or AI company. They need to see a return on that investment, but not all can survive or earn enough to cover their huge upfront costs. Some will collapse when they fail to make a profit and only rack up expenses. The hardware they’re buying has a limited shelf life, and outdated equipment isn’t really an “investment” since no one will want to buy it, meaning billions could be wasted.
They can’t keep expanding and buying new hardware without actually making money from it. These companies are battling to become one of the few survivors and dominate the AI/SI market, similar to how Google owns the search engine and browser space. The concern is how many other industries they might drag down with them during a crash, like the PC gaming market and hardware manufacturers. Even if AI/SI is here to stay, with trillions invested, many companies will fail, and growth will slow. That crash will happen, but who will be left holding an $800 billion debt? Investors and lenders could be wiped out, and taxpayers might be forced to cover the bill, which cannot happen.
It’s wild to think about how PC gaming hardware alone is worth billions, thanks to all the related products like cases and motherboards. Gaming as a whole is several times bigger than the movie industry, and when you combine everything, you’re looking at a market worth hundreds of billions. Yet it’s being abandoned in favor of AI. Without a PC, I wouldn’t even have a device to use AI on, and console gaming is just as massive, with billions in hardware and hundreds of billions in software. It feels like we’re just letting all of that fade away. Why isn’t anyone stepping up? Imagine a memory producer dominating the entire PC market for both business users and gamers. Instead, it seems like they’re putting all their eggs in the AI basket and giving up on everything else, missing the chance to become the undisputed leader in PC memory.

How do they figure anyone can spend money on AI if they don't have any devices to use the AI on? Businesses and people need PCs for this. Just using a Mobile phone isn't exactly conducive to actually producing something.
Hi. so I'm happy with my 4070super PC. My real issue is my 2kids' 3070 & 3070ti. I want to upgrade them to higher VRAM but also with more horsepower & all the GPUs now even 40series are too expensive 😢 should I just let them use DLSS upscaling and be content? they're also both still on the R5 5600x each with their 32gb ram & 1tb nvmes. obviously all bought before this madness.
Gamers are cooked. Period.

Yeah they did this to us on purpose. Building our own rigs is not something they want. Eventually you will have to finance a rig to have one complete. It is sad. And it is not just AI doing it the companies know making less means higher earnings. I was lucky to get a 5070 TI and 64GB of Memory before this all started. Just before. SO I hopefully am good for ten years if I stretch it really hard.

The 64GB DDR5 kit I put in my new PC in 2025 cost me $247. Last time I checked it was $1199. I also put in 8TB of M2 drives which cost about $800 in total. Those two drives would now be $2500.
