  3. The comparisons between the two of them stop at the screen, battery size, and form factor. They’re two very different approaches. One is a heavier, more luxurious build phone, the other is a lighter, cheaper feeling phone. Both great phones. It just depends on what you are looking for specifically.

  8. Given the global supply shortage for the Duo, if the screen were to break, you wouldn't be able to get a replacement right away. Personally, I would place my trust in Samsung—a company with proven hardware expertise and durability, honed through years of refining foldable technology.

  9. The nightmare reports coming in about the Duo would lead me to believe that y'all would hold off on these glowing reviews while apple does damage control.
    I mean seriously 2000.00 for phones that are breaking less than 12 hours after purchasing.
    Look it up. It's not good and apple is crickets on the matter.
    I'm no Samsung fan but Samsung folding phones would be a way to go. I fortunately have a OnePlus Open and have never had a single problem with it. That and it's ridiculously pricey 1500.00 price tag is 500.00 less than the Ill phone duo and it still works like a charm.

  12. I bought fold 8 with two years unlimited data and calls for £1550 and got £350 cashback from samsung. So it is cost £1200….How could poor duo be compared to this?

  19. the one is first gen. the other 8th gen. ofc not exactly. the screen in both are from samsung. apple doesn't have any tech to make those screens consumer grade. but i would be that samsung screen is at least one gen newer.

  21. I just got the Duo for work. I was right, feels like a first gen product. My Z Fold 8 destroys this. Why cant we move the dock? The finger print reader sucks, no face unlock? And the UDC sucks. No comparison, Apple is at least three years behind. It feels like two phones bolted together like Samsungs earlier folds. Its a first gen product and it shows.

I have both now, and I really enjoy the iPhone Duo more, maybe because I’m steeper in their ecosystem, but it’s Apple, they will get the apps up to par soon enough, the screen is more muted, but absolutely no glare and no fingerprints, I rather have that. One thing for sure, the Duo definitely feels much more premium without a doubt.

  33. As an iPhone user since the iPhone 4 who also uses an iPad, Macbook Air, MacBook Pro, Apple Watch, Apple TV, AirPods, and AirTags, I just switched to the Z Fold 8 last month after seeing the opening price and specs of the Duo. And I don't regret it at all.
    I'm so surprised by how good it is for the price. The only two things I miss from Apple are Face ID and the telephoto camera. Otherwise Fold 8 is nearly perfect for me. The Samsung DeX wireless experience just opened up my world. I can use a VPN and DeX at the same time. Apple can't even handle long, stable AirPlay or screen mirroring to an Apple TV. I may switch back to the iPhone again in the future only IF the Duo has the things I missed this time.

  35. many brands have been doing foldables, yes. This year is Apple's first year releasing a foldable albeit a "passport" foldable so is Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei first year with the foldable too. With all the tech out here, Apple fumbled big time. Biiiiiiiiiig time
