Awesome Tips I’ve never seen a smart light like this before…

I installed Nanoleaf Lines smart lights on my ceiling! The wiring was a little tricky, so I’ll walk you through the process of how I figured it all out and show you the finished look.

INSTRUCTIONS
I forgot to mention that Nanoleaf recommends you screw in the plates if you install on the ceiling. Here are the instructions:
1. Mount your Lines design to the ceiling first using the included Mounting Tape.
2. Remove the Light Lines then pull the Mounting Connectors off to reveal the Mounting Plates.
3. Mark the screw holes and remove the Mounting Plate. With one hand on the Mounting Plate, use your other hand to pull the end of tape along the wall or ceiling until fully removed. Do not pull perpendicularly or at any other angle, otherwise, you may damage your wall or ceiling.
4. Then drill pilot holes and install anchors (please proceed with extra caution for hole alignment, particularly for closed-loop layout assemblies).
5. Fasten the Mounting Plate to the anchors with screws.
6. Once secured, attach the Light Lines and Mounting Connectors back onto the Mounting Plate.

The acting at the end sounds tremendously scripted. Otherwise good video.

  2. Does this work like wake-up sunrise light?

Fantastic! And how long did your Nanoleaf Lines stay stuck on the ceiling?

  3. It's very cheap according the the middle east.

  4. amazing review!! and the jokes at the end absolutely love it haha made my day.

    Dude your house is awesome

  5. ws2811 ic + wled + pvc and maybe…maybe…..3d printing some parts
….why need to pay 1000x times for a peace of pvc

  6. Ew why did you put it on the ceiling

  7. Do the colors sync to what you’re watching on your TV?

  8. Can these act as ceiling light to give light to room?

  9. You could have done this in the celiing surely rather than from that plug socket and the all cables would have been hidden

  10. Not enough sticks to make a heart shape ?

  11. great video, really informative for me as a future homeowner… almost disliked because of the dad joke cries

  12. If it was mounted on the wall, the power cord would be long enough. If it’s mounted on the ceiling, the cord may not be long enough, as you said, but if you have a ceiling mounted projector, you could power it from the outlet up there.

  13. Should set it up in your bedroom linked up to look like the oxytocin molecule 😏

  14. Those dad jokes 😂
Damn the price is high but not surprisingly for nano leaf.

  15. Why do you have to make a joke based on your name which is basically the lead YouTuber I mean your name was read and you just trying to make a joke out of it just by putting your face in between the lights or in the little triangle imagine putting the Illuminati symbol in that little triangle creepyIsn’t it

  16. At that price, I'd mount them back on the shelf at the store. Looks kinda cool though.

  17. Hey! Love your videos! Is your recliner smart? Can you press play and the recliner reclines auto? 😀 Challange!

Interesting, though you didn't talk about the interface. 10 years from now will they work, be supported, will you be able to talk to them, if they do still work? I have seen led's that promise thousands of hours and quit far far short of that long (usually not the led itself). Also were these stick on's, which i assume. There is a lot here i like, but like so much of what i have bought in the last decade, will it just be unrecyclable junk in a few years. Also this will be copied a million times by next year so i wish the company luck.

  18. The ligth look so cool i really want it

  19. Something like these, outside, to do lightning effects during Halloween, would be dope

  20. Yikes that's not a good design lol. Thanks for the video though!

  21. cool video and nice review! I really wish Nanoleaf could come out with a replacement for the brain to the og nanoleaf panels. They don't have the hardware required to support the thread router capability. I have about 70+ smart devices and 7 are og nanoleaf panels and they are constantly having connection issues. I would love for nanoleaf to release some kind of replacement plugin brain that had this capability. Since you seem to be in touch with them would appreciate if you could pass on that recommendation!

  22. Whenever I remove my Nanoleaf I take the wall paint with it. Ugh!

  23. Idiotic product

  24. You spelled Read wrong. 😉

  25. Reid between the LINES

  26. What about Govee ?

  27. Hi, I would like to have ideas on how to control energy usage of Air Conditioner (AC) in a rental apartment. For example, I want to implement the following:

    1. AC switches off when the tenant locks the main gate of the apartment and leaves the apartment. (I already have an idea of implementing a keycard system, any other ideas would be most welcome)

    2. AC switches off when there is no person in the room.

    3. AC switches off when the room door or window is open and switches back on when the room door/window is closed

I'd greatly appreciate your ideas/input on how to implement the above.

  28. Do people really want to pull wire from the outlet to the ceiling for few flashy lights?

  29. looks like Nonaleaf is trying to one up on Govee Glide wall lights and Liifx Beam.

  30. Another great video, my friend. Those things look amazing, (and your Dad Jokes are on point). LOL

  31. REED BETWEEN THE LINES!!!!!!! Please tell me you actually put a picture of yourself on the ceiling and it wasn't photoshop!!!

  32. I might have popped a small hole in the ceiling to run the power cable through, then come back into the wall behind the curtains…but it’s a pretty cool concept!
Also, the twisted cable where it exits the cable hide channel and plugs into the wall is triggering me 😉

  33. I approve of the dad jokes lol

  34. I have been eyeballing these as I'm in the process of converting over to HomeKit as I'll be moving back to the iOS ecosystem on my phone. I'm truly digging the thread technology and am excited to see them adding more products that offer the technology!

  35. Those Dad jokes really worth the thumbs up!

You have light bulbs in the ceiling, pull power from there…….

  36. Jesus that outro was a pure gold! xD

  37. hm….i didnt know about Nanoleaf Lines…..but u gave me an idea,i can replicate them by designing and 3d printing connectors for aluminum led strip channels and using WS2812b and Wled its gonna be awesome!(and a loooot cheaper) .Thanx Reed ,nice video as always.

  38. Did you considering using the J-box in the ceiling for power instead?

  39. Looks like an 80'S arcade.

  40. Did I see a ceiling fan cover? Why not convert that into a power box and plug them in right there? Very cool though, nice look.
