Doesn't the Bios have it's own utility with an UI to flash a bios update? It looks like that's the only way to update it anyway so I don't see why you would need a processer.
So I bought a prebuilt and wanted to add more storage just to realize it only has one slot
I’m seeing a handful of mixed comments talking about “RAM compatibility issues” with this board, can someone who has used this mobo tell me if it works fine with DDR4-3600 memory? For my build I’m using a 2x8Gb stick setup.
(I’m using the TeamGroup Vulcan Z 16 DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory, to be specific).
Great board, been running it for over a year now with a water cooled 5600x, RX 6800, Firecuda Gen 4 SSD and 16G 3200mhz. Saved money everywhere possible and my build cost $962 usd, insane price to performance.
what game is the game he is testing with
Great video! Got this a few months ago in 2022 (I live in Argentina, hardware is SO expensive compared to what we earn so had to skimp where I could), the version with no WiFi but 2x m2 SSD slots, using it with Ryzen 5600 + 32GB 3600MHz, 2x 3000MB/s ish m2 and my trustworthy 2060 Super that survived my previous build and I hope to be able to replace next year. No issues AT ALL. Definitely recommended for any mid-range gamer PC!
can i pair b550m pg4 with r5 5600/x + rx6600 sir?
I guess you can say it a basic motherboard for everything to work fine
“Nobody is going to buy a motherboard to improve their performance…”
*me watching this video after getting this motherboard to improve my performance 😶
How did you get the CPU light to turn off? (No signal on the monitor either)
Mine doesn't and I've removed everything and put it back in one at a time. I also switched the Ram but nothing
Well I already bought it, it was super cheap. I hope it goes well with a R5 5600x and RTX 2070, but I have concerns about the RAM, because I was planning to buy a 3600mhz kit.
Thanks for listing out how many fan heads there are!!!
I was looking at this exact info along with 'is vrm cooling' good enough
Of course this is the motherboard my father bought me nice
I got this board with a PC someone built me. Wanted to support someone local and I've been to busy with work to build my own. Plus my previous PC kept having issues, and I couldn't afford down time.
B550 Phantom Gaming 4 Mono
Ryzen 5 5600x
16GB RAM
2tb Pioneer NVME
Cooler Master Hyper 212
H510 case
Apevia 600w PSU
Handful of white Led fans and a couple white/black cables.
I asked for WiFi, and this came with the non wifi version of the board. Paid way too much but it is what it is. I've doubled the ram since and swapped out the Apevia PSU for an Antec 850watt. And added another 2tb nvme in the second slot.
This board boots so slow. And when you add wifi, your second nvme slot speed is halved. All this could've been avoided with a better Mobo. Not the fault of the board, but the builder. But, definitely stuff you want to consider if you have plans for adding wifi and a second nvme. The rear I/O seems quite bare as well. Especially if you're coming from previous builds with more options.
I can't get this board to post 3 lights come on but drank won't
Yes all depends on how much power you need. This is why we love asrock because they make their products budget friendly.
garbage board
My X570 Phantom Gaming 4 died today, not even 1 year. B550 ftw.
My experience with this board is mixed. My only gripe is that I can't use the full speed of my ram. The highest stable speed I could get was 3200mhz. While fine, I hate leaving performance on the table.
I picked up my asrock b550 for 80USD and it has everything that I use every day. Only thing I wish I had was a usb c header
Gotta love that technical knowledge, "this board doesn't have a lot of things on it", smh. As a tech reviewer you should know that the Ryzen processor itself handles the memory, the first m.2 slot and the first PCIe slot so CPU, graphics and memory performance and compatibility should be the same regardless of the price of the motherboard.
