AMD has had APUs for a long time, and in the middle of a GPU shortage, they’re more relevant than ever. So why are the best APUs they’ve ever made not for sale?

Deals for Days. Big home savings are happening now.
I have one :3
sitting here watching this with my Ryzen 5 5600x and a brand new 3060 ti, and having flashbacks to my shortage struggles with a 2nd hand gtx 660 ti and an i5 6600, those were dark days indeed!
Nice to see the change.
I just swapped a 3200G for a 5700G in the wife's desktop because she doesn't game, but also doesn't want to wait for stuff to happen.
Interesting how the 7000 series all has integrated graphics. Almost like they are actually listening but the r&d is years in the pipeline.
Q4 2022: These have been fairly common and available online in the Philippines for quite some time, I think they get sourced from Hong Kong mostly. If Ryzen's 7000 series doesn't come out with an APU mid-year next year, I'm fine with this because it's still way cheaper to hit 64GB DDR4 than DDR5 (moving up from a Ryzen 5 2600).
Yes i found the Vega8 for 40€ whats near identical powere than geforce 1050TI are a very good grafic for this minimum price! And i play most all games with minimum middle graficoptions. (only Cyberpunk i must al little under middle but it locks good and have a stable game for 1920×1080) For me its enougth to chill and wait for good prices for a real grafikcard. But i have no need woried aboud it. All are fine.
The only thing is, you need more ram and this ram if you later buy a real grafik card its not waste if you use Photo/video/audio cutting tools.
I have both in two systems 1050ti and in the other pc vega8, FPS are mostly identy in my games. Can Play X4 (space game), cyberpunk, Satisfactory…. sure not of highest but middle is godd possible and for me absolute ok for dam 40€. (8GB RAM of 32GB)
yeah I can and I did lol!
I'm not questioning the chip shortage but it's getting to the point where every other company is using it to increase prices. Plus, I assume everyone in the chain knows by now that, in the end. Pushing the shortage narrative is only good for business. Just a thought I had.
best rn is 5700g-5750G, depending if you're interested by the professional level protection
integrated protection to the cpu
i had a qa im about to build a pc and will using a 4750g be good for gaming without extra gpu?
I use a ryzen 3 4300ge with 3gb vram Bios config, works amazing and only bought the apu brand new for 150 dollars
even 2400g and 3400g is still very good today.
could play most games at 720p at low to high settings
as long you have faster ram like 3200 mhz in dual channel.
I really thought this cpu was bad, i got one for 170 on ebay it just had one bent pin and i fixed it up and now i see why it's really good as a cpu, later i bought a rtx 2060 so now it's really good.
i have a 750ti and i feel personally attacked by linus, i think it’s only fair for LTT to send me a free 3060ti
APUs are great for beginners and for ITX builds. I built my little brother a 2400g system with a picoPSU that's the size of a book for $400. I keep offering to help him upgrade it but aside from adding storage and RAM he's never wanted to trade the form factor for a dGPU. I think full-size towers are what cause a lot of people to shy away from the hobby
the problem of this cpu is having 12 max of pcie lanes 🙁
Okay I've had enough of Linus shaming me for buying a GT 1030, boo unsubscribe 🙁
Either way, no problem, I'm fine with my Intel-9700k and it has pretty much capable to run everything at 1440p
Game with 3D Render*, it's Good btw, but i have extra R7-5700g That's also incredible Processor better then this 1, aspect from *Rendering & Exporting or Multitasking
It happend
i just bought a ryzen 5 4600G for 150$ while I save up for a dedicated graphics card and it is the most performance per dollar i have ever seen
the messed up part is durring all this i gave my old 750 ti to my son and he was getting bottle knecked at teh cpu it was an old A8 lol those old cards really arent terrible if you have sstrong other components, but i mean its def not gonna be the best period
I have been using this for like 3 months and performance scales with the kind of ram (and ram speed) you have. For that, i have a PNY 8gb x 2 at 3200mhz with xmp 2.0 enabled (2133mhz base speed). It does the job done. Can play CSGO at highest settings with 60fps or more, dota 2 at high settings for 80-90fps, and more.
when linus forgot about aliexpress moment
Lol I found this video on my recommended while I was trying to get a 4350g
You can allocate MORE of the system ram to the graphics. It is usually 512mb by default. Check out this guys upload to show you how in the bios. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj65wfgMrRg
its great apu are getting better but the stop gap thing is nonsense.if your paying £400 for a 3060 750 levels dont cut it.you could buy a 1080 ti for that wait a few years for raytracing to improve so that fps isnt lost and in mean time have a great gaming experience.also in a few years price gouging could improve
what does a budget gamer truly need?
4:03 didn't happen
I'm currently using ryzen 5700G APU with an old radeon 460 Graphics card and two ripjaws ddr4 ram sticks in a rog strix motherboard; is this combination good enough to stream, or record gaming in general with?
which is better this one or ryzen 5 3400 g ?
Stop recommending this annoying channel on my feed. I do not want to ever see this dudes face.
1:24 APU as a term existed before 'integrated graphics' and provides significant benefits compared to the old "GPU on motherboard" approach
Similar to todays DirectStorage, data shared between CPU and GPU is much faster accessed
I only play left 4 dead. Not affected by gpu shortage, runs great on APUs
meh, cpu is old arch, and gpu is too slow for almost anything… so I would either wait or spend more…
Snatched one of these babes three months ago, along with aa 16 GB kit of Trident Z Neo 3600 MHz and a Gigabyte B550 motherboard, for a bit higher than half the price of what a 3060 goes for in my country… Solid performance in games that I play freqently (Satisfactory, Valorant, Rocket League etc. and a bunch of older titles)
I got r7 4700g in My prebuild but i got rtx 3060 ti too
I use APU and save a fortune on electricity costs 100 watts plus. The APU gives acceptable performance for my needs.
cough cough ryzen 7 5700g cough cough
3400G Owner here. The Vega 11 was fine for games like Valorant and League of Legends (It was even better once I added a 2nd 8GB stick of ram. With only 1 stick I only had 6gb of system ram due to the APU taking up 2gb of the 8gb for itself all the time). I eventually needed to add a 1650 Super to play all the other stuff the APU couldn't handle but it got me going. Now I run with the Vega 11 disabled in device manager and the 1650 super as the main display out over display port. G-sync is sooooooooo nice. Final upgrade will be a 3060ti down the road once I can get one for around msrp.
