I prefer disc over digital. If a game publisher decides to randomly pull thier games off digital they can and you lose everything. With discs you don't have that issue. Also you can get hacked and untill you sort it out your not playing anything if you can't get into your account. With discs again no issue. Also there is NO reason for digital games to be anymore then like ten dollars max. No disc or manual or case so shouldn't be more then physical. I'm almost 40 and yes I stick with the times but going all digital is a risky move imo

"we're past the physical era" bro we're literally not, digital downloads also pollute more in the long run than a single buy of a game disc, not to mention the second hand market, either if you want something cheaper and more ecological or if you just HATED the abomination of a game you just played (looking at you Ni No Kuni for the Switch) and want to resell it. So far only steam has a refund policy for digital games. So yeah we're DEFINITLY NOT past that era. Maybe some are, mentally, due to the high consumption of game passes etc. But generally, especially due to not excellent internet coverage across the world, we're not.

4k to me on video games doesn't look like a change at all unless it's on pc. 1440p on the series s has been incredibly amazing and is a power house of a machine from what your getting huge huge upgrade from 360 and old gen consoles. Then you have game pass ultimate it's the best console to buy on the market. The PlayStation 5 shines from its amazing exclusives when it's available to buy i will get it.

No. The video game industry is not past the optical media era.
There are some of us that like the convenience of having an optical drive. I double up my Xbox as a blu-ray player to avoid multiple hardware and remotes. I also enjoy retaining a hard copy of games as I own them. I do not subscribe to the digital “rental” as this platform stops you from sharing with others less fortunate than yourself.
When the digital copies of games are cheaper to buy then I will switch from disc, until then I prefer hard copies without forced updates and I have potential to resell, yeah yeah you only get $8 per game for resell, well ya know what ?
Every 6 games I trade in would be a new game (or close to) Even if not then I would prefer to have options than let it collect digital dust. Until then don’t tell me we are passed that era

Reason for the optical drive: sony has pulled digital games from the store and from the user's library. According to the U.S. government, they are within their rights to do that.

I have the series s and i absolutely happy about it, hes cheap, works properly, have incredible resolution and quality, also u can get it in 512gb or 1tb, but the best thing about it is that u can also download old games from Xbox 360 and it has game pass that also make it better
Ive had the S for about a yr now,and just today I found an X for retail price. The S has been perfectly fine but I have a ton of disk from all the OG Xboxes. So the S goes in my son's room and I'll put the X in the living room where I can use it🤷🏾♂️
