As an acer guy i love the laptop uwu

  1. For me personally gaming laptops (or better desktop replacements) have become the way to go. Yes they aren´t as powerful and there is no real upgrade path aside maxing out ram and storage capacity. But they are generally fast enough for a reasonable price and while you don´t have the same level of performance as a desktop it is good enough (specially if you stick to 1080p). And you have the added mobility, if you spend you weekend at a friends place you can have a gaming session without much hassle. Another added benefit, the lower power consumption, honestly those gaming laptops are damn efficient and provide a hell of a performance considering the power the consume and with increasing energy prices this is definitely not a bad thing.

Bought a cheap ryzen 7 5800h rtx 3050 non ti laptop that i got for around 800 bucks back in 2021. That i take with me and is often used on battery, while at home i have a newly purchased ryzen 7 5800h with a rtx 3080. That said i was already quite impressed about the gaming performance of the low power rtx 3050 non ti laptop, specially with dlss. You can play any game with high to medium settings and have playable or competitive fps with ease. Sure rt isn´t an option on it but that´s why i have the rtx 3080 laptop.

Neither of them is even noisy under heavy load (even so the rtx 3050 non ti one is louder as the cooling solution of the hp pavillion gaming laptop is inferior to the rtx 3080 acer nitro 5 one). And if i had spend a little more i could have gotten a more premium model with mux switch and a higher tdp rated rtx 3080… but i am totally happy with what i got and both laptops perform great.

As you get older priorities change at times and i appreciate the mobility and the low amount of space a laptop takes up compared to a desktop pc. (i am not even using a external monitor, sure the 15.6" screen on both isn´t the biggest but provides a very crisp image at 1080p.)

If i would be into racing sims i surely would go a different path and get myself a powerful desktop with multi monitors for the most immersive gaming experience, but i am fine playing forza horizon 5 with a gamepad.

Imo the only real drawback on laptops, isn´t the lack of performance compared to desktop counterparts but the storage upgrade ability, as you are limited to mostly just 2 ssds (either 2 nvme or 1 nvme + 1 2.5" drive) and large capacity ssds/nvme drives are quite expensive or hardly available.
Why my acer nitro has a 1 tb nvme for windows in addition to a 4 tb ssd and a 256gb nvme (placeholder till i get a bigger one) and 2 external drives (4tb evo 870 and 8 tb qvo 870) as i do have quite a large steam library.
On a desktop pc you could slap in more drives, and even get high capacity hdd (which are still good enough to game from for the most part). Sure you could connect those hdds with externaly to a laptop but that would require a rather large drive bay + external power supply.

Once nvme get cheaper and larger then the biggest drawback of a laptop is finally fixed.

One thing is certain, the industry seems to bank heavily on gaming laptops and there is a large variety and availability for pretty competitive prices and that during times where dedicated gpu´s are either not in stock or cost an arm and a leg. And if you aren´t afraid to buy used gaming laptops you may get a rtx 2060/2070 model for around 400 bucks and those still hold up pretty well in todays games specially with dlss.

  2. They are ass

  3. Gaming laptops are the biggest rip-off. They lose half their value as soon as you buy them, they are impossible to upgrade their performance, and they are slower than comparable desktops and last half as long. Laptops are great, and gaming laptops are crap.

  4. to me no because my charger always broke desktop didn't have to worry about that

  5. No you should not!!

Idc about the size of the laptop. I move around between my parents every week and I need a powerful machine that can get moved. A desktop pc isn’t as easily moved around so that won’t be possible.

  6. 1st reason, it is cheaper for electricity,
2nd reason if you want to move out of the country you can take your laptop without dismantling it

  7. I have one and I love mine

  8. I think there is a gigantic difference in buying one for competitive gaming as opposed to casual gaming on the go or at work

  9. Honestly, I prefer a console. But for editing videos, college stuff and for playing games that aren’t on ps5. It’s worth it

  10. I like your presentation sir.

  11. i just got the MSI GE75 2020 10sf 446 Model last Saturday. It has 500gb ssd drive and 1tb hdd drive and a 5g video memory it also has 16gb ram. My only gripe is that the power and fan button could be another color that could make it so you can see it or light up like the other keys.

  12. Hi, Are these gaming laptops good for graphic design, can they be used as workstation
    in general?

  13. I love gaming laptops because i need portability since i am a traveler. So gaming laptops matchs my lifestile atm 🙂 i would buy a coolerpad for temperature

  14. No matter how loud a gaming laptop is it doesn’t rival a ps4s jet engine

  15. Purists and Elitists won't like it that's why, they can't accept the fact there are people who have different needs and lifestyles than them and willing pay more for that mobility and a cleaner setup and have good performance and they knew full well what they getting in to.
Their arguments has always been the same not as powerful too expensive and barely upgradeable stating the obvious like a broken record.
Just buy what fits your needs and lifestyle people or you'd have to adjust just to fit in with elitists' preferences not yours.
I need a laptop because a desktop became a hassle to move around with since I move between houses every month or two and likes to travel if given the chance so desktop is out of question not to mention the lack of dedicated space for it in my house.

  16. I am planning on getting a gaming laptop for work + gaming. Does the laptop only make loud fan noises during games or all the time?
Thanks for the very informational video!

  17. I burned 2 graphics card on my entry Dell 6400 laptop. GeForce go 7300. I'd say laptop is good for portable gaming and that's it.

Sooner or later if you're really serious about gaming you will get yourself a PC.

    You can't resist the masterace.

  18. Gaming laptops are garbage. I got one and aiming at players with a small screen when their far away put you at a huge disadvantage. They run way worse desktop guys will slaughter you. Im not saving for a insane desktop. I play rust where you need the best cpu and cooling systems

  19. Laptops, in general, are useless to me. I have a fire-breathing workstation, the biggest tablet there is, and a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. I have a Lenovo 2 in 1 i7 notebook, but I'll probably never buy another one.

  20. It's in the highest price bracket, bit the ge76 is the only way to go. I've tried most of the new laptops available, and the ge76 raider is King

  21. skip some of the vid bt THANKYOU BEYOND BEYOND BEYOND BEYOND BROSKI FOR REAL FOR REAL❕

  22. my 3060 laptop is struggling to run a block game while my friends 1660 super can get 3x more fps
