At last. This is about 5 years too late though, Amazon already have my money for all the lightening cables I've had to buy for my kids iphones. USB-C I've never ordered a single one. They last longer and come with most devices now anyway.

I just moved to the iPhone 13 Pro from an 11. I have over 150 cables and charging brinks in every size, shape, color, braid and braid color combination. This way I am good until 2028. I'm coming to get you iPhone 20! Your mine in 2028!

Not sure why i even bother reading, the best decision is to boycott apple. Too many people are fanatic of their overpriced products. I have tried all their products from the Mac days and I was never impressed once.
And the best part is that if Apple wants to get money they can push to create a type-c 2.0 which would be way faster charging and they could sell that to keep money flowing to them

No USB C is a safety hazard at this point. As a Security Officer, there has been countless times iPhone users are out of luck with no way to charge and they are missing from friends and family. I haven't meet an iPhone user to bring an extra lighting cord when clubiing. I have even helped customers with android to reverse charge to make an emergency call.

Apple is greedy that is why they won't change usb If enough people stop buying Apple then they will have to make the change.this is a trillion dollars company so you can see why Apple won't like it. They don't care what the customer would like to have it is greed to them. if you can out a lighting port you can put a usb port in. it is pure greed.
A wireless charging phone would be grant, we're just not there yet. So making Iphone usb-c seems simple enough to do. Also people that have any tech at home most likely have something with usb-c already. Don't think they even need to ship it with a cable. So If they are as green as they love to claim… Make everything(including all accessories) usb-c from now on and be done with that for a while. Leaves more than enough time to innovate the sjieijt out of some other stuff!

Lighting is a garbage connector and a garbage cable good riddance.
I fully support this for the fact that it will at least reduce waste. It blows my mind that apple refuses to do it on phones despite already putting type C in Ipads and macbooks

Problem is that USB-C ports are far too fragile to survive for the number of insertions they are advertised for. They wear out before the device fails in most use conditions. This leads to an artificially reduced average use life of most low power devices, consequently more in stead of less electronic waste.
