The Sony Xperia 5 II (read as “five mark two”) is a smaller, more affordable version of the Sony Xperia 1 II, which impressed us earlier this year with its ability to capture photos and videos like a high-end mirrorless camera. The Xperia 5 II adds new features including a 120Hz high refresh rate display and the ability to record 4K video at 120 frames per second. The latter of those is a first on any phone.
Over 10 days I tested the Xperia 5 II review unit running final software. I think it’s the best phone Sony has made in years.

I really don't understand why some manufacturers incorporate a button or squeeze function for a Voice Assistant 🤷
I use google assistant loads on my pixel 2. It's a shame they got rid of the squeeze function in their latest phones. A physical button might be annoying though as you mentioned when using a clamp.
Please help : I can't figure out how to turn my caller ID off in the updated Android 11, "Hide caller ID" in the Android 10 of my other old phone.
The forums I found had nothing to offer me, someone please help…
The reception on this phone is terrible compared to any phone I've owned..
I'm looking at a used copy of this phone now. Was choosing between this and the s10e as a replacement for my S7 but this seems the better choice (though more expensive too it seems worth it). Crazy that 5 inch phones are now considered "compact". I have little girl hands and I also don't want to walk around with the equivalent of a brick in my back pocket…
Gah the Google assistant button. Is it possible to remap?
Sony Xperia 5 IV 🔥🔥🔥
NO bezels , NO top/bottom bezels.
1.0" Camera Sensor 🤯
Pop-up selfie camera 🤯

Are any of the 3 Cameras capable of extreme macro?
Nice Chitown pics! I used to go to Five Star in my 20's for wing night…
i think they made a cheap deal with google. you get android very cheap if you put a google assistant button on it 🙁
I thought this perfect to watch cinema on netflix. I hardly to see in the dark scenes in the movie.just let go this phone after 1 month usage. Should be better brightness screen for this price.
I use active edge on my Pixel 3xl a lot and love the idea of a dedicated Google assistant button, but I'm the minority
no band 71 = no buy
In 2020 950$ is apparently cheap.
Man i Love this phone but i don't like how they put so much emphasis on the pro camera mode.
Definitely getting the one of the mark 3s. I so love Sony.
Kevin James mall cop look-a-like
I love this phone. The choice could be the best one of the year. Everything works smoothly with elegance involved in every touch and flick.
I agree with a talk of google assistant botton.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7, and this is the only current phone that I would like to have.
The newer Samsung phones have those all too round corner around the edges and the front camera popping out of the display, and I believe no aux output.
My only issue though is as the reviewer pointed out, all the buttons that could interfere with a gamepad mount that I use on the phone with gaming and emulation.
hopefully it half its price for the next 2+ years and is still around to buy or even drop significantly like they did to the past xperia phones to a budget price phone
I bought the 5ii cus of the refresh rate.
I love the g assistant button haha
This guy's tongue is too big for his mouth
For us baby-boomers we car SO MUCH about convenience — wish you could spend a moment on ease of : Making a call , texting , reading texts , typing , setting an alarm . Believe it or not the Google Pixel 3 gets an F here where Samsung s8 gets an "A" . Thanks !!
Love this phone..I don't know why but I have never accidentally pushed the Google assistant yet….hey shoot me I don't know why 👍
Please Sony, no button for Google assistant.
Does it have dual sim?
