Here's a hack for dairy. If you buy a Lot of milk, it gets expensive. Instead of buying 2 gallons of 2%, buy 1 gallon of whole milk, pour half in a washed out used gallon, add half water. Tastes just like 2%, but now you have 2 instead of one.
This is only one tip – freeze stuff.
