when i was starting out in computers we used two of these together in a fish tank to water cool a PC this was way back with windows me /xp
the flex tape hat really is the icing on the cake.
As an engineer, I have so many problems regarding the way they assembled their set up… Uneven pressures and temperatures across the whole rig.
RIDICULOUSLY expensive to build and a RIDICULOUSLY inefficient way of setting everything up, lol but ok whatever works I guess
one mistake: splitting watertubes
This hurts me, not because I'm team red, but damn, just seeing all the water go everywhere
Ah yes, Assistant. My favorite Linux Tech Tips member, right next to Linus*, the founder of Linus Tech Tips, of course.
Who transcribed this, why did you do my boy Jake dirty like that.
*in another video, parts when it was clearly Alex talking were instead attributed to Linus.
most chaotic build on LTT
3:15 you could have used thermal glue
And you know they had to dismantle it before Linus came back
Pump in series not parallel
If you put the pump higher where the reservoir is even with the top of your highest loop it will help.
Alex is OP lol.
4:30 You are aware that there are other power supplies, with that kind of power output (especially 12V), then PC ones. I also doubt the 1500W output in total on these, because that would include 5V and 3V and such.
why parrallel all those blocks ofc the flow isnt going be enough
I have absolutely no fucking idea what's going on or what the object is but I had so much fun watching lol. I love ltt but only understand half of it lol I'm a retro console gamer but love tech in general
fun idea but why radiators? just doing the oposite thing you want, blowing and conducting heat into the loop rofl.
Jake getting sprayed after asking if he can just crack it real quick had me cackling
JUST WHY?
Alex and Jake: Here's your cpu make
AMD: …Why is it covered in vaseline?
I don't wanna be Mr. Obvious, but why didn't you just put the Peltier-module on the floor to resolve the head pressure issue?
How many attempts has Alex made at getting TECs to work? I stopped counting after the fifth or so attempt, which resulted in just an utter mess of cables, dangerous voltage converters, amperages strong enough to kill an elephant, and the final verdict being that TECs simply don't make sense.
I was using the Peltier's back in the AMD A64 days.
There was an Air cooler that ran a 150W Peltier.
Alex is by far becoming my fave LTT member
Alex will you be my mentor?
the safest liquid you COULD have used woul be aircondition coolant. Get it all over your hands? no problem, not dangerous
that could probably cool a pentium 4
Alex in my opinion is one of the greatest things to happen to this channel lol
1/2 inch tubing has a max distance of 50 ft at say 40psi……. lol your 1/4" tubing is how long?
"but I know you can't look away" , darn it. I literally can't.
I think the whole bubble trapping thing could've been solved if they mounted each row in series and not all of them in parallel but i still love the idea!
Frankenstein all the chillers you have together and get sub zero on CPU and GPU
5:22 so many missed opportunities.
Alex has that content
Zoho is racist
Just strap a GoPro to this guy and let him run wild!
This have mad scientist vibes
That is Not how I would have used those peltier elements…
smh gotta delid it
He knows he's got us cornered. I can't not watch his ridiculous cheap cooling projects
I think it's about time you look into crimped butt splices. Seriously, much easier than soldering splices!
Why are you guys not using conformal coating to make your stuff sub-zero proof?
Jakkuh and Alex best presenter combo outside of Linux 😀
Quality content! 😂
You do know you can get 40×120 aluminum water blocks so you can reduce you hose usage by a factor of nearly 4. J/s Hilarious fun build though! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
You need a separate res at the top of the loop for this to work. pump at the bottom, res at the top, then you're not fighting gravity. come on guys this is water loops 101!
More Jank plz!
again the scariest things an engineer can say is "it should be fine" or "it will be fine"
14:30
Thank you for such a selfless sacrifice to bring us such precise scientific data
The only thing missing is the "What the f* are you doing and HOW MUCH DID I PAY FOR IT?" Linus cameo.
