Also chrome book with zen 2 and rdna 2 for 399-699? Man makes getting one as a dedicated stream system almost worth it. Use that to host twitch stream while use your main pc rig to game on.
The Mendocino chips seem pretty bad so if you are getting one of those budget laptops like the ones with a ryzen 5 7520u, and ryzen 7320u just go with intel's i3 1215u or an i5 1235u.
The 2 cu, make it even less powerful than a ryzen 5 3500u laptop from 3 years ago when it comes to graphically intensive tasks like gaming and rendering. Not really a good deal at all in the $400-700 dollar price range or even at the $300-500 budget price range. Even to what intel is offering considering uhd/xe graphivs are actually improving each year.

How hard is it to disable the TPM module on these processors thzrough the motherboard bios?
I'll wait a few years till they master the next generation. For now, a 5600x for me with an RTX 3060 Ti is the sweet spot.

AMD CEO Lisa Su has clearly made a mark on how she wants AMD to compete against Intel. The roadmap for future AMD CPUs is very promising and very healthy. Intel struggling with ideas on how they can beat the AMD juggernaut!!! Great future ahead for both these companies.
What i enjoy is that most software is about as easy to drive as it was before with a handful of exceptions so your outdated hardware still performs just as good as before all in all, meanwhile you can build something for $500 now that outperforms something for double the price 5 years ago because most games are just as easy to drive as they were 5 years ago and there hasn't been a lot of great new releases
For me it would be epic if amd got 7700k like intel had, and made it 8c=8 thread gaming cpu with strong IPc
I'm rich,lucky and hooked up from the computer industry just like linus, i can update my threadripper 1950wx , vega 64, 64gb system to the current 5995wx 256gb ram , Radeon 7000 1200. All cause i tag @amd . This is a dream. If you read this amd. I could use that type of a system for adobe' cc applications.

It's pretty crazy nowadays, My old fx8320 Did well for 7 or so years before upgrading. I made the Jump only a few years ago to a 2700x and now my system is old. However, I will probably wait until the 8000 series comes out and skip the 7000 depending on bugs etc. Its very exciting to see. DDR5, PCIE5 and AM5

You got to love the competition between these two manufacturers. AMD and Intel are battling for years and it's good that we can take advantage of it.
All these intense battle for consumer and prosumer grade users makes me think that sometimes, in the near future, your average "high-end" gaming desktop might casually be capable of simulating an entire black hole.

It’s looking to be a great time to upgrade considering my current “PC” is a mid-2015 MacBook Pro (that I also bootcamped) 😂. I’m going to wait until the new AM5 chips are released. It’ll be nice to have a computer that’s starting out with a new format. (So hopefully it’ll last a while so I’ll just have to update the CPU ) Although at this rate of growth every year it might not matter 😂

you guys talking about your slow performance on your 4-5 year old CPU gotta know, I'm still running a I5 2500k, I can play almost every game. some of them play like its PowerPoint but they launch ok… one of the fans fell off my GTX 970. my Hard drives are not happy. my ssd is 240gb. my ddr3 ram, pure performance, 10 years ago.
Dear Intel, I'd love nothing more than to see you kick ass again, but, it'll take some effort. You've had it good for a while when AMD was less of a competition and more of a mild inconvenience… Now, they're doing what you've done for years. Step up your game, team blue.

It's nice, in my country AMD and Intel is at the exact same price/performance when you consider good cpu + good motherboard combo the last time I looked.
I think that intel consume less power than AMD because of the low idle.
Actually, we need more powerful cpu for games and heavy apps. But average daily tasks it's limit overkill lol.
