Comments

  1. Did the xbox price include live or game pass?

  2. I’m guessing you didn’t include the keyboard and mouse in your overall price 🤷‍♀️🤔

  3. You cant compare base performance off price since microsoft takes losses to get you into the door to spend more unlike PC that has numerous free enjoyable games that all you need to worry about it the build fee (price of building)

  4. A year late but you forgot to include the cost of an OS, as well as a 4k uhd blu Ray drive. I'll give it that pc gamers don't use optical media but it's an included feature of the consoles and therefor the pc is lacking.

Also, a wired controller?? The consoles come with a Bluetooth controller, you wouldn't have to sit so close with a console.

Spec for spec pcs can't match the consoles in cost for performance. A pc that would match the consoles would cost closer to 1k at least.

  5. I7 8700k 24 giga ram gtx1070ti i have you think best ps5 asus motherboard 270 euro

  6. How much was the OS?

  7. I do say that thay are within spitin distance, but the variety of games for the pc is a stark contrast to the rather limited range on console, which is why im presently in the process of making the switch.

  8. Hey Linus um I guess you forgot about OS in the budget? Haha unless you installed a hacked OS.

  9. Thing is. Xbox is basically just made to play games, and only the game made available from Microsoft. A PC has that games made available from Microsoft. As well as steam, epic games ect.. also multiple full blow web browsers depending on which one you'd like to you. And with that you can do so many things watch TV, movies for free. And even download emulators and roms. Sure the Xbox can play dish movies or even Netflix ect. But there all several more websites for viewing those things for free on the web. And again about emulation you would need to buy a separate system along side the Xbox to play emulation. Pc is everything in one. Xbox is one in one essentially.

  10. Pretty much PC gaming is for people who want to spend more time and money on upgrading their rig rather then playing games

  11. Also the forgot the series x Is a 4k blue ray player lol that's also missing from the build

  12. Rocket League looks better on xbox x

  13. Well… what you didnt take into account makes a huge difference in the price point to performance! So your NOT goina find an xbox series x for 500! Youll be looking at 599-690 depending on location and time of year! So taking that into account you could actually have spent a smidge more on a few things and made up the difference in gaming quality while still having the benefit of being on a pc with all the freedom that entails! I call this a draw in all fairness!

  14. Xbox Series X runs FH5 native 4k

  15. I mean, if you're comparing the two based on price alone of course the XBox is going to shine more. The price for PC equipment has skyrocketed in the last few years thanks to a lot of BS. That being said, a PC has a shitload more versatility than an Xbox/Console. I love my Xbox but at this point I really don't ever play it given that most of the titles I play on it are now available on PC, and by and large they look a shitload better on my PC than my Xbox.

  16. Remember 499 plus tax is like 800 so your good 😁

  17. Comparing used tech to new. Yikes.

  18. You no longer need to boot into dev mode to run emulators.
    You're welcome. Gamr13 is awesome.

  19. Couple glaring issues with the comparison.
1.) The PC can be upgraded further as time goes on. Can the XBox or do you have to wait for the next month's rent console to come out?

2.) The PC is useful outside of games.

  20. It's futile feat. Consoles sell at a loss, as to sell services and subscriptions. Sony is still paying it's PS5 debt off and are finally starting to see a small profit on its digital versions, as of about 6 or so months back. This becomes a further impossibility when you try to match performance. For instance, GPU and CPU memory bus speed. That XEON ain't going to be anywhere near the memory bus speed on a Series X, and you'd need a 2080 TI to really match the performance. A further impossibility. But? You can probably settle for a 2070, if you want to at least match a PS5. Controller is debatable, as PC gamers tend to use mouse and keyboard. Also, as far as game settings, consoles don't jump to Ultra, they use a mixed bag of settings, consisting mostly of medium and high settings and maybe throwing in the occasional ultra setting for the flashy stuff, like water reflections. Also that GTX 1000 series was pretty damn legendary. I still got friends running monster hunter happily on 1060TIs and 1070s. Definitely not bad for a nearly 7 year old GPU.

Anecdote: This is why people need to keep their GPUs longer. And why people like Linus and Gamer's Nexus need to do re-reviews, years down the road. Things like this whole GTX 1070 surprise. Most people just assume "ehh it's getting old" but they get better over the years. Especially AMDs. AMDs age like fine wine. Run a 1070 era game, like Assassins Creed: Origin, on an AC: Origins GTX release driver set (one of those drivers that first popped up as saying, "Included support for Assassin's Creed: Origin") and compare that to a present day driver set and? Well? Night and day difference. Now, go beyond that and manage to find a pre-udpated version of Origins, from 2017 and a matching Windows 10 version/ build? And? Comprehensively? You'll see any easy 25-30% difference. I've liked doing this, dating all the way back to the first time I did it, when I bought the GeForce FX 5700 (or whatever it was), and re-played Far Cry in late 2006, two years after it released. Back then it was easier to do this kind of stuff because the game will have had whatever the last update applied to it, on account of its disk-based nature. When Far Cry released? I remember having about 28-32 FPS average, at high quality mode (ultra did not exist lol) at something like 1156×960 resolution (I think it was), on a 75 Hz display. I couldn't quite hit that native 1280×1024 milestone at that point. Years later, same monitor, same PC, same OS install…that game was running over 40FPS. In fact? I'm now seeing those same parallels with 6900 XT era games, over what I was getting on release day. For instance, one of my latest re-visits was AC: Valhalla. I game at 3440x1440p, ultrawide, and around release date, got 75-80 FPS, ultra settings. Now I get about 100 FPS.

  21. "PC master race" still sounds so stupid. It's like a 12 year old came up with the name, and 30-40 year olds are still saying it lol

  22. My 4090 wouldn’t even shit on a console, it has standards

  23. Linus couldn't admit the L

  24. Cap

  25. The xbox is new at £450/$500 but what about the pc? You couldn't even build a pc with second hand parts as good for the price. All this video shows is that the series x is an absolute beast 😁. Reminds me of the time that flat earther accidently proven the world was round 🤣🤣

Okay… And the ultimate test was missed, Callisto Protocol.

  26. I would always go with a gaming laptop more than a controller. Cos I can switch to gaming when I like.

  27. i used to be a console gamer i was a kid loved shooter games had no idea you could use a computer to play call of duty found out then went on to try out csgo before that commitment then finding out woah it is a whole other monster and nothing like cod decided i was way behind the ball and had no chance so i stuck with the idea of cod in mind already having years of experience from console loved playing gamebattles bolts only in call of duty world at war search and destroy matches that was one of a kind havent saw and irons only game mode with sniper quite like it since anyway i realized that the pc expierience was waves and bounds above console as far as customization of pc settings and being able to ajust video settings and iv never looked back had afew friends back in the day before crossplay began to try to convert me to pc drop the console get the pc 1000% the games will be better if nooone has a console and that dies and people game on pc i really believe that because with crossplay these games have to compensate for the console gamer when in crossplay and put pc players with better hardware at disadvantages to help the console gamer compete just get better hardware aka get apc so deveopler dont have to do that and everyone can show their true skill i mean even these console kingsd can convert to pc and just plug in thier favorite controller oh and xbox one controller on pc figure out how to get your controller setup as wireless otherwise if your playing with a cord your stuck 4ms input delay wireless will put aT 1MS if you have to use a wire get a ps4 contoller for 1ms response and yes even if you are playing in 240 hz it will still be 4 ms contoller lag but mouse and kewyboard would be 1ms sorry for the essay

  28. i dont think you should limit yourself to msrp a majority of people who have these next gen consoles did not care they did not wait and they bought these console at way above msrp they paid the 800 dollars i think you should give this video another shot based on that fact and use a budget of 800 dollars and show these people who overpaid what they could have had instead of a console

  29. yeah i noticed the deeper blacks when you first switched to the xbox version and i was like wait i think it looks better on the xbox but then i rewound and was like well no its not it just looks like deeper color or maybe vibrancy so i wonder if you went into the nvidia control panel and turned up the digital color vibrancy color if it would look better than the deep darks of the xbox one i usally turn it up to 80% when im interested in picture quality im glad you pointed that out because not everyone would realize that if you didnt mention it

  30. Yeah the series X is more on par with a 2080.. tiny bit more powerful.. maybe even higher in a really optimized game,, not far from the low end 3060… tiny stretch …but the series X is packing more power than a 1070 by far miles and away …plus think it doesn't have a small SSD or any other cut corners….. and most of the power hasn't even been tapped from it wait till Unreal Engine 5 Games hit on it and stuff next gen games try and play the new hellblade 2 on that PC and see how the differences are LOL

  31. Aren't xbox / playstations sold at a loss to promote memberships / game sales?

  32. How is used and remanufactured pc parts. Equal to a brand new Xbox series X?

  33. I like PC gaming. I switched from xbox to PC gaming in 2017-2018, and while I prefer PC, Xbox series X/S is a GREAT deal for gamers. $500 for near PC performance, prolly better performance than a PC in the same price range will cost you, you cant go wrong with this generation of xbox. Maybe I'm a little bias bc xbox still holds a special place in my heart but i dont take away any points.
