It has been one year since this video came out. Looking towards buying a trackpad for my desktop. Apples magi trackpad is actually the only quality one that I can buy now. No sensel products, or similar haptic trackpads to be seen in the market.

How about Framework puts one of these on their laptop? I think with the modular nature of the laptop this is very doable.
More than a year later and still nothing came out of it.
Apple trackpad still better cause we can use it now, it's been year but there's none sensel touchpad to buy.

Sensel wants to redefine touchpads
Oh wow, that’s really cool! I wish the machines at my job had touchscreens that used this technology. I work in a rubber injection molding facility and I mainly run two styles of machine. Interestingly, the older style had a touchscreen that can be used with work gloves on, but the newer ones require the operator to either use a stylus or remove their glove.
I hate laptops with no buttons on the touchpad and what's up with all the touchpads these days? No texture just one cheap sheet of metal. I find them so irritating to slide my finger on.
It has been a year, any update on this? Is it close to be implemented in other devices?
Do anyone know the difference between "Forcepad" and "Haptic touchpad"? When searching "Forcepad" it looks like an old technology back in ten years ago, while searching "Haptic touchpad", found those recent launched laptops mostly claim that they use haptic touchpad, in other words none of them use Forcepad anymore.
I want to use this in an ultrawide laptop with dual touch pads on both sides of the keyboard. So my hands just slide in and out when typing or using the track pads. Also allows for precise mouse movements in 3D applications

Has Apple ever made a touchscreen Mac laptop?
If not, is the following feasible: To take out the innards of a touchscreen-Windows laptop, such as my Dell Precision M3800, and replace them with the innards of an M1 Mac Mini? Ideally, one would want to replace the Windows keyboard with a Mac keyboard, but keep the Windows trackpad, for its two-button convenience.
I really don't like having to deal with Windoze.

Only 3 inches, gets out tape measure and measures track pad on laptop currently being used 2 inches.

Compare to the capasitive touchpad, I don't see what's advantage in accuracy and haptics feedback to this touchpad. Thought it's cool to support touching with gloves.
