Comments

  1. meanwhile chilling with xbox series s

  2. Have a Legion 5 with the 3050ti and 32g ram. Around 70 fps with the new cod.

  3. Steam Deck is great for those who can afford it. Total luxury item. Would be a bit weird if someone ONLY had the Steam Deck though and didn't already have a gaming computer. If I had nothing and absolutely had to get something to game on with that budget I would build the computer. I would only consider the Steam Deck if I had a lot of expendable money and a long commute.

  4. Hardly a fair comparison. One is portable handheld the other a desktop. Can you build a handheld with the same performance for the same price? Next challenge for LTT.

  5. Any time I see a low-contrast intro I know that we're in for something good/controversial.

  6. just get windows off a secondhand website for 25$

  7. Neither are worthwhile. It's 7 grand on a server beast or nothing.

  8. why u compare things bro..thats d beauty of having difrent things yet ur comparing

  9. Sorry what 249.- For a backpack? sorry?

  10. 249 fucking US dollars. not just canadian but US, for a backback bro. idc how big it is, that asking price is way bigger

  11. Ok, now to make it fair, add a UPS to the PC (& monitor) that can provide 2-8 hrs of gaming like the Deck and laptop options can.

  12. The SteamDeck2 needs the following:
    – thunderbult support on the usb-c so that we can have docks with a full GPU slot.
    – battery tray on back so battery can be removed and replaced.
    – make m.2 tray accessable with small compartment so you don't need to take the entire thing apart. (like how laptops have it)

  13. Steam deck can't run games at 4k, that is unacceptable

  14. Windows CD keys cost $3. It's insignificant.

  15. Solution get both

  16. LMAO, Dell G5 15 is literally I the laptop I was using to watch this XD

  17. I just love the duality of Linus, saying in one video that he is very happy with gaming on a $500 PC and complaning about a $800 GPU in other video. I'm happily confused.

    It's called a trackball Linus

  18. As someone who is still using the computer I built 7 ish years ago (6700K & GTX 1070 Founders, this desktop is great for anyone on a budget.

  19. I wonder how the steamdeck fares in running photoshop and having an xp-pen tablet plugged as an external screen

  20. Obviously, you would get more bang for your buck from a desktop build, but the point of the Steam Deck isn't to be a desktop, it's to be a portable gaming device.

  21. I refuse to play below 1440p, steam deck is definitely not an option, lbvvs

  22. im getting a steamdeck for my birthday just because I want a handheld console and don't want to use a switch, and because I already got like 200 games on steam

  23. The watermark isn’t even that bad

  24. This is perfect if you can’t play games due to your living situation.

  25. I sold my steamdeck and got a laptop. The steamdeck repeatedly crashed on halo and space engineers. Couldn't play many games like rust and hell let loose due to the anti cheat not allowing linux.
Many other games like total war were very awkward to play without a mouse and keyboard. It was cool for what it was it but I found I had to restart it often.

  26. That was the smoothest segway to the sponsor I've ever seen.

  27. The steam deck has blown me away.

  28. I wonder if the steam deck dock can work with a egpu

  29. Steam deck looks a great bit of kit but in reality just like the PC you'll be better off getting one used, although there's greater risk there as a portable device is more likely to have been knocked about.
Personally, I go with a old office PC suped up with a decent used GPU every time and I also have a Odroid Go Advance for mobile retro gaming, thousands of kinda free games than are perfect resolution for the small screen and its such low power/weight that its a truly pocketable and portable device. Playing high-res steam games on a mobile device seems kinda pointless to me.

  30. Computers are overall the best

  31. One thing to note is you can easily run Windows on the SteamDeck, and in many cases Windows 11 will actually give you more frames! I want to see Linux gain ground over Windows so I'm sticking it out, but dual booting is also an option!

  32. the 1070 is still so usable today for most games nowadays. now u dont get the best graphics and 60fps at the same time on new AAA games but yea still a good GPU

  33. They also skipped the cost of a display.. as that's build in to the deck

  34. Pov the Xbox series X running at 8k 120fps for the same price 4:27

  35. You should make a build that matches the steam deck on performance and see what price you get.

  36. In fairness to building a PC – if you don't care about handheld at all Steam Deck just doesn't make sense – you'd get a better experience for the money with a PC, even all new. And at that price point laptops don't make sense either. As for Win11Home license – you can find that for like 30 bucks if you know where to look 🙂

  37. How does any of your expensive gaming equipment last?? It gives me the ick how rough he is with stuff 🥹

  38. With the lower resolution and FSR being more readily available, I don't think this device is gonna be obsolete anytime soon.

Not to mention the machine is great for playing older games, Indies and is widely lauded for being an emulation monster.

  39. Someone has the link for the Dell G5 laptop on ebay? I cant find it, thx in advance

  40. assuming you will want to game on a larger screen, I think you could play with the setup a little. Add $50 to the steam deck price for a USB-C dock with HDMI out and ethernet, and remove monitor from the desktop and allow assumption of a small TV with HDMI input at home (and will be used with SD anyway). Would give you a $579 budget for Desktop without monitor.

  41. My recommendation: Do not buy Dell gaming laptops. I've given them 3 chances over the years and they just keep getting worse. My latest 2 had such terrible thermal performance that many keys on the keyboard stopped working. I actually had to switch to my steamdeck as my primary machine because it's far more stable and doesn't melt itself apart. Not to mention that throttlestop is basically a requirement for any of the dell gaming laptops with an i7 or i9, because it'll try to activate turbo-boost and immediately overheat and throttle down so hard that the entire system will hang.
