Comments

  1. um, elves, goblins, trolls, everything is from paganism, which based these creatures on humans that did exist. Elves are far away with pointy ….. don't say that. trolls live in the gutter (homeless) orcs are green and killing everyone (did anyone say opium?) … these mythical creatures are understood by many to represent various actual humans, and some people do take offense. (can anyone say,, asians? I mean elves, elves. … and goblins though)

  2. I think some of it’s limitations exist so developers can’t use it as proxy to steal data. Same with the random numbers – if it just gave you randoms on request, it would be exploitable. So instead, you have to ask it in a way that somewhat proves you’re not someone’s backend trying to automate stuff.

    😅

  3. Me: Hey GPT, do you know ducky script created by hak5?
    Also me: 😈

I just emailed them. I have a Eufy doorbell… and yeah, I bought it for the local storage.

  4. Holy shit Luke is so dull, great for falling asleep to 😍

  5. A better AI prompt : Write a very truthful ballad regarding the buttocks of the valiant Sir Luke “The Bold & Just”. It must be told from the wise words of the great sage Sir Mix-A-Lot 😅

  6. ChatGPT is amazing, but my problem with it is, that if I have a library which released a new major version it can’t help me as its data is limited to 2018, meaning I’m back to github issues, stack overflow and gh copilot

  7. This entire wanshow… I've just been thinking when is this going to become a persacom.

  8. It would be one thing if the end user was prompted to confirm enabling cloud storage prior to enabling push notification.

Edit: Ankr themselves I'd probably buy products, but likely not their surveillance systems

  9. doesn't cloud storage need a trusted third party to have the information so if there's a attack, the software can scan vulnerabilities internal and external .

  10. The lemon juice worked for me, I did not like asparagus as a kid and my parents tried lemon juice….. Should not discount advice just because YOU don't think it would work 😀

  11. @1:29:00 basically exactly why I'm not, nor likely ever will be, on floatplane. I still see it as just a flash in the pan, especially since I've never heard of a single other creator on it. it's been up for years, and as far as I can tell, has gone nowhere.

  12. So if i let a friend use my NAS the its cloud but when i store it on that same NAS its localy? That doesnt make sence right ……

  13. 20+ years, no sleep on any desktop has ever worked correctly for me, either it wakes up for reasons that I have disabled(WOL or wake on mouse kb etc) or it randomly doesn't wake properly/has performance issues, or straight up doesn't like sleep at all.

never had one that I could just walk up to and push the on button and it works every time.

  14. This politically correct crap is getting out of hand!!!!

  15. Lots of folks here are confusing GPT3 (actually GPT-3.5) with ChatGPT. They aren't equivalent. ChatGPT is a user-interface optimized for natural language processing, which is built with GPT3. ChatGPT is what enables non-programmers to use the GPT3 functions that programmers have been using for years already, albeit at a much lower level with a much lesser understanding of the vulnerabilities and shortcomings than programmers/developers in the AI realm.

  16. dbrand reply took me out. 🤣🤣"come get dbrand" cherry on top….. lol catch me outside, i got skins

  17. Remember how in TNG people would just tell the computer to generate simulations for them in the holodeck, and it would just generate them on the spot? GPT-3 is the first true stage of that.

  18. Linus MT/S do not = Mhz
With all respects do better man youre the tech guy

  19. Linus man… That volume on your mic at the start.

  20. WAN show 11/10 on 2x speed. Totally different experience

  21. Also I got code-davinci from OpenAI to make up git repositories from actual users that they didn't make

  22. What a weird comment section, it almost mirrors the reaction from the truck drivers about self driving replacing them. Who’d have thought that the supposed open minded techies aren’t actually so much for innovation and progress if it’s personally affecting them and want anything and everything done to stop AI from “stealing” code that is open source lmfao what a mess.

  23. Talk more about gpt3. Was the most interesting podcast I’ve listened to in awhile.

  24. Also: Still can't believe they used public buckets. Just such bad practice. There's zero reason for the buckets to be public and it is fact bad practice pretty much across any use case – not just with users private data

  25. Looking for open ports is still a mainstay of hackers. You can do things to make it safer, but it's definitely not an only in the movies security risk

  26. The other thing is, in a true local system the bits wouldn't even leave your LAN. You could enable an optional where you push across internet as long as it's outlined, but imo, the default should be only push notify if the device is connected to the LAN

  27. The fingersnaps at 6:53 are 1:1 to the ones in the Adam's Family intro lol

  28. Your a leftist hack, that's why. You don't have the trust of many people in the community. Your tech news is littered with leftist propaganda. What else is for sale?

  29. People not understanding that the cloud doesn't have to be a part of every product that interacts with another device must think that NAS is black magic. I think their minds would be blown if they saw that my PC has a network share drive without all of the traffic going through someone else's server.

Don't think I'll go into SSH. I may inadvertently give someone an aneurism.

Also, on the open ai subject, when writing the citations its doing exactly the same thing that it does when writing the essays. It is a language AI and has learned the structure of a citation. This means that it can use the structure, and fill in the blanks with the context given by the user in exactly the same way as it can finish a bit of code, or a sentence or make a short story.

The model itself is static though. It has been trained and is no longer in "learning mode" (think Terminator 2). So even if you could get it to trawl the Internet, you'd be limited in what you can do with that.
