Ipod 2019
I had been using a couple old Nanos for podcasts until very recently when my old Mac that still had a compatible version of iTunes bit the dust. I've seen articles about iPod modding and the enthusiasm for classic models, but my question is what program are people using to manage them with iTunes all but extinct? And is there any program other than iTunes with a podcast feed where you can download episodes and drag them on to an iPod?
I cant go a day without my ipod
My mom and I both picked up a 32 gb iPod 7 generation. Rip iPod, you had a good run.
Who is that girl
I bought the iPod touch because it was a MP3 player. I want to keep my music separate from my phone and not kill my phone battery
While smart phones and tablets killed the iPod/MP3 player era, I know people that still use their iPods. I actually still encourage people to keep using their iPod if they still have it. Sure, smart phones can pretty much do everything while on the go. But not everybody likes to put their eggs in one basket. The reasons why I suggest people to keep using their iPods (or any MP3 player you may have):
1. They still sound better. And that's what they're mainly used for — music/multimedia
2. By using the iPod as your multimedia device, you're not draining battery too fast on your smart phone (which is what everyone needs to communicate with and organize).
3. Having your songs downloaded locally to your iPod can give you control and you don't have to rely on wifi when you're not near a hotspot — no interruptions as well
4. While the younger generation mocks and laughs at you by not using your phone to play music, tell them , " I don't want personal calls, texts and notifications to interrupt the playlists during the party"
i was one of the first in my town with the sony walkman (blue metal) and first with ipods. great for musicians!
Weird. Now I’m the old dude saying “but I loved it so much. That device forever changed me”
SanDisk Sansa
I still use .mp3 and .mp4 (music videos). Never liked the iPod with Apple's closed system.
screw streaming, subscriptions services and proprietary formats.
I like to own and control my content.
ipod touch 4th gen, best form factor of any apple product, wish they made phones that size, so small, felt like pure magic to use that device when it came out.
I remember when i got my iPod Classic and because it was so small i could take it to work and listen to a few tracks while working or even catch up on a movie when i was on a break and no one even noticed .
I felt like a kid in a toy store when i got it and i still have it with over 5000 songs , music videos and movies . Never getting rid of it . I would buy an updated version of the classic if apple was still making them . Sony still sells the Walkman , they even have one for over $3000 which believe it or not people do buy .
I still use a iPod video 30GB from time to time when I just want musing and no other distractions.
My Android phone will be my mp3/FLAC player, plus unlike iPod, it is cheap to own.
Should bring back the iPod classic!
My first iPod was the iPod Classic with 160GB, I never filled it up, I just like having extra storage, just in case (still do) I was very anti Apple in the mid 2000's, I had a Zune, however when I got a Mac, I felt I had to get an iPod. It served me well.
I use my iPod nano everyday 🙂😍👍. Have a great day everyone . Cheers from Denmark
You are so cute mam !
Ironically there is a song " You'll Never Miss the Water Till the Well Runs Dry" I hope people start to see how important having and iPod and having your music separate from your phone is and also the weakness of music streaming services.
Imagine not being able to play music through out a long day at work.. while using your phone you have to worry about battery drain or even going far from your phone. I actually want and prefer a separate music player, I hate hate having my songs pause when a phone call comes in so I keep my music separate. My first Apple device was the first iPod Touch 4, upgraded to the 5 and currently have the 6 which goes everywhere with me. It also the best music player without having to buy an iPhone ( I'm a Android user ). I however baught an iPod 7 because I felt this moment was coming eventually.
As of the discontinuation of the iPod I'm currently seeking alternative Mp3 players or repurposing my previous Android phone with a good music app.
When it comes to music, I feel that you loose alot of control by streaming, plus you're paying for your music when you can just buy your songs and create your own playlist ( or download them to mp3 and store it offline as a backup. All in all I will miss the iPod, but I'm discovering ways I can get the same or eventually a better experience
R.I.P iPod Touch you were truly one of kind 😢😢
But an iPhone is practically an ipod as well. Sooo… 🙄🙄
Please stop whispering.🤦🏾♂️
I’ve experienced the newest one spoiler alert it’s absolute trash, dies in under an hour, the screen is so small and the camera is so grainy. Trust me Apple should’ve discontinued it a while ago but it still gave a lot of childhood memories
I’m pretty sure there’s a couple billion iPods out there to go buy and use if you’re nostalgic for them. If you really insist it must somehow be an Apple branded music player (although there are still many impressive, current portable music player options), go buy an iPhone SE and do all the things the iPod 2019 did at the end.
They should turn the iPhone MIni into the new iPod Touch. That, or make it into the 2023 iPhone SE…
Honestly, I kind of like the Apple music subscription service – but I do agree that too many things these days are out of users hands. At least you can burn your purchased iTunes music to disc, and it is drm free…but that is a huge issue with Apple TV. If I bought the show, I should be able to keep it, burn it, copy it, and play it on any device.
I remember the days I would jailbreak my friend’s iPod Touch in high school. The good old days.
when the grid goes down then what? all the all in 1 dives fail you at once its a trap people bring back block buster give me my child hood back 😣😞
i had like 20 ipods in high school 10 years ago literally every one had at least 2 or 3 different types of ipods i still have 2 nanos and ipod touch 2012 the world ended im out
Now apple is literally forcing parents to get that iPhone for your kids instead of the iPod touch! lol
Used to have a ipod u2 edition back in the day…cool stuffs
I had a feeling it would end since a new iPod touch hadn’t been released since 2019 😔 iPod will be missed, but iPhone will live on forever…and ever
it shouldnt have died
I missed my iPod so I sign up for Spotify Premium Family
My first was a blue iPod mini. I loved that player! I got my first iBook as I had to digitize my CD collection to use the iPod.
I had a iPod nano
Hey, I'm excited to try the Neuralink chip in my mind Try the chip Don't miss out I'm 100% sure Neuralink will work I'm 100% sure it will work in humans Don't miss out Try the chip🤍🤍
I pod…the backbone of a trillion dollar company, laid to rest.
We need moar of this person! I LOVE this person.
Mmm, Bridget. 😍😍
I loved the iPod as a kid but do I ever wanna go back to that era? No way! I love using AirPods with my iPhone makes life so easy. I do miss listening to the Lost Tv show podcast on my iPod though.
I still have 2 in good condition ipods, the ipod didnt have to die they shoulda made a up to date ipod classic. Sometimes you dont want everything on one device.
