Leaded solder in a mass manufactured product = bad. Leaded solder in a DIY repair is fine
Its been like 8 months since then, but Linus… please tell me that you've gotten your wife a new keyboard by now. She may not be a keyboard nerd but even the layman can still fall in love with a good board, and you have the tools to make her a new long wrist rest. If not, make a damn video where you do that already. You could 3d print it, machine it, whatever you think will get you the most views but dear lord its your wife man! Treat her right. Surely she deserves a fancy custom build for all the work she has put in, heck you could even do a collab vid with one of the keyboard youtubers.

Regarding the keyboards in dishwasher, i would always recommend putting the keyboard in the sun with good airflow after dishwashing them.
ive been hand dishsoup washing my keyboards for years now and then letting them dry good, and it sometimes even improves switch operation.
My current keyboard has seen probably like 3-4 washes over 6 years and some of these washings were made because keys started acting up, washed them in water with brushing them and submerging them completely in soup water, rinsing off and drying them.
I have pictures of this on my phone backup on my nas somewhere…

I notice that the purchase of the BlackMagic Design Ursa mini 12K is justifiable here. For the macro shots the editor can easily scale up the footage as much as 9x if needed without loosing the quality so much
Btw, it's nit surprising the E key would be the first one to go. E is the most used letter in the English language. The space bar is probably used more often, but because of the stabilizers, I think it'll hold up longer.

You should just get unleaded solder, lead makes you dumber and no amount is safe. Its fine to work with.
