AMD made the curious decision to very quietly launch a graphics card today – The Radeon RX 6600. Why would they not announce it? Does AMD have any confidence in it whatsoever?

And here in my part of the world the rx6600 is available for $240-$270 while the much weaker RTX 3050 starts at $320 as of today.

I know this video is 1+ year old, but building a budget gaming PC for my brother I was able to secure a B550 mobo, r5 5600x, and this RX6600 all for just under $500. Not bad at all.
Compare this card which has been seemingly permanently out on “sale” for $239 to dump left over stock and compare that to an RTX 3050/3060 for $100-$100 more and you can’t complain at all.
just bought it for 240bucks. while the 3060 is still 500+.
I need some help, my video quality with this card seems abysmal unless I watch videos on Microsoft Edge. Am I missing something? Or is it my Intel i7.

Got this for 250 out the door a couple days ago at best buy. It's going in my very first pc build with a i3-12100f cpu

this thing cost like 273$ in my country is it worth getting for like a budget
I already bought the GPU, honestly just watching cuz I’m bored, but I found the card a great value considering I got it for $60 under MSRP at Best Buy.
rx 6600 is 270 euro now, destroying the 3060
Now that GPU prices have come down, I just picked up a new ASUS RX6600 for £229 inc tax with 2 free games worth £100 and a 3-year warranty. No-one cares about ray-tracing at this price point (it cripples games' FPS unless you have a high-end card) and the RX6600 is currently over £100 cheaper than the RTX 3060 in the UK, so it's definitely the best budget buy at the moment.
I got the RX 6600 brand new for around 185 USD in Mexico.. do you think that is a good value?

RX6600 cost in Europe 269 Euro but the RTX3060 is around 500 euro
the RX6600 is beter in price
The RTX 3060 is 390€ and the RX 6600 is 280€ (Dec 2022) in Germany. So for the price tag you even can't afford an RTX 3050 (320€). So I think the RX 6600 is faster as a RTX 3050, is cheaper and has less power consumption.
Also its unfair, that you say that FSR 1 is much worse than DLSS2. Its is. Its much older. DLSS2 is working only on Nvidias newer GPUs and FSR2 on almost any GPU also on AMDs iGPUs. For me: I can play No Mans Sky on my GTX 950 with FSR in 1080p. It looks like a compressed video at 900p. But I got 50-60fps. It looks much better as FSR1 (wich is flickering a lot) and much better and faster as 720p native where I got 35-50fps.
RX 6600 is a killer product for only 180$ on newegg. while the RTX 3060 still costs 380$ LMAO
At the current price (240ish usd) it should be compared to the rtx 2060.

This video didn't age well. 1/ energy crisis is hitting Europe hard and unfortunately is here to stay… So power consumption isn't something we can just ignore. 2/ Rx6600's are now available for 200-350 euros. 3/ the economy being what it is, not everybody can afford to upgrade a whole system, and this rx6600 might be the best option for gamers on a budget on old systems (ex: i5 4th gen, gtx970…) who want to play new titles on a budget, even if it means lowering some details.
For what second hand prices are still doing I can now buy a brand new card for a tiny bit more and have 3 years cover on it.
Holding out with my APU until the really good deals hit and the idiocy ends…
Aqui no Brasil, a RTX 3050, 2060 e RX 6600 se encontram praticamente no mesmo preço, com uma diferença entre R$100 e R$200 pra mais ou pra menos e, como meu PC ainda tem uma GTX1050ti(desde 2017), tive certeza que estava na hora de fazer um upgrade. Fiquei indeciso entre as 3, pois as performances em benchmarks que vi aqui no YouTube estavam semelhantes (compatíveis com as diferenças de preço), eu acabei escolhendo pela 6600 por ser a melhor em geral e com esperança de passar alguns anos sem ter que trocar a placa.
Currently shoppin for new parts for an upcoming build and the 6600 had actually dropped down to the 200-300$ with most cards around the 250 mark right now.
I played the waiting game ans bought one recently for 265 after tax 😁
