Who knows why mysql and mssql can be so slow on virtualpc on hyperv on amd epyc?
Definitely want to see what the performance gains this new CPU has over predecessors and its competitors when running FEA.
someone school me bec what i saw can't be right, $1k for the "cheapest" cpu model? @10:30
Yeah we changed all Intel XEON Servers in our data centers to AMD Servers, only prb was that no live migration is possible in vmware esx from Intel to AMD, but you get more Power for less Money 🙂 You need to shut down de Virtual Machine before moving, that's the only bad thing. But the Power you get is amazing, wow. And if you use Veeam than the Socket Licensing Model is more interesting, you have more Cores per CPU Socket, and you pay the same Price. But now comes the bad, Veeam sells them only to Company's they have them already, and then only anymore to the end of this Year, so if you are an Administrator of a Datacenter than HURRY UP, the new Licensing is per Virtual Machine 🙁 Before was endless per CPU Socket.
I bet their next processor is named Naples.
The spanish part made me laugh out loud
Didn't know that Jabba The Hutt is into tech.
Love 12 finger Anthony
LOL, photoshopping Anthony's balding scalp in the thumbnail. Have the obese fuck shave his head, or stop presenting – it's not a hard component.
LOVED THE ITALIAN INTRO
LOVED THE ITALIAN INTRO
11:17 128 cores on a single die? Or rather CPU with multiple chiplets? 128 cores on a single die would be incredible but probably very expensive because of way too much dies per wafer with defects.
OK Anthony speaking Italian, I liked him before, now even more!
1:07 This is fucking nonsense. EPYC Naples (Zen 1) was EXTREMELY performance competitive with Intel at the time! It just wasn't head & shoulders faster the way Rome & Milan were! (Naples & Skylake-SP traded blows).
AMD was the guy who got dumped by his GF but then got a 6 Pack.
AMD meat rider alert
measly 40 core? i got quad core.
You should go outside and take a walk…
Only watched because segway to our sponsor
And here I am still rocking a 2700X. Well, it's still very much more than adequate for the things I do.
Oh yeah
The stock was 165.
They eat a lot.
AMD is like that one backup computer
Remember the K6-II series with Windows 98? It's amazing!
