AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series cranked up the power draw, but had performance to match. Now that the non-X chips are out with limited power draw, did AMD accidentally play themselves – And you?

  1. They know, every gamer will wait for the X3Ds. And i guess these will be expensiv

  2. I think less power draw is super nice but i still believe in the X version, since my 7700X still smacks the 7700.

  3. No remorse at all. Got a 7700x for $349. I'd choose it again for the $20 difference between the X and non-X too.

  4. Oh my god… you're an AMD mouthpiece

  5. Can someone help give me a better idea of where a good landing point would be? I’m building a new PC for both gaming and to video edit on for an eventual channel. I like the idea of AMD and planning on probably under-volting a cpu to get much lower thermals for a minimal decrease (assumption) in performance.
I don’t care so much for the cost of the hardware. Is it worth waiting for the new X3D processors from AMD? Or Instead an X or non X cpu? I was going to pair this with the x670 Asus Pro Art mobo.
    Any help is much appreciated.

  6. All of this does not matter when you already build a pc and not compare it to other parts

  7. I tried to get a pre built PC from Build Redux (Linus's pre built company) it was the worst experience ever. I paid over $4,200 for my 4090 Build, and I had my processor changed to the 13900k. I spoke to several people about having the processor changed and it was confirmed that I even have a picture of it shipping eith the 13900k. Got my pc and it has the 12900k in it. Called back and cant even get a hikd of a manager to talk to. Just have to go through other employees to get word to managment. The employee said it was too late to change after they shipped it when my request was placed way back a long time ago and confirmed it could be changed. Long story short my order was delayed 4 times, and they said I would have to pay a restocking fee of 15% in or to get my money back, which was their fault. Never buy here.

  8. I have a Ryzen 3 3200G, and I’m contemplating whether to upgrade haha, what would be the best CPU upgrade on a budget?

  9. Advertising AMD then points out that their recommendation screwed you, and blames you

  10. My "sucker punch" came with 32GB of RAM lmao

  11. Always love seeing competition bringing better, cost effective, and power efficient parts for people to enjoy doing the things they do on their computers!

  12. the 7600X is still better with higher base clock speeds vs the 7600 which I bought today knowing the base clock was higher.

  13. Great video as always! What AutoOC are you talking here for the 7900 chip? More details on the OC please, how about the increase of power draw, temp, and consumption?

  14. I've always told my friends, Ryzen 5 _600 and RX _600 (non-X variants) is always the best value. i have 5600 and 6600 rn and ill probably move to 9600/9600 when those come out

  15. is there anyword on these getting put in Laptops? seems like it could be game changing to get the same performance from a fraction of the watts at a fraction of the temperature.. the chips could perform very similar in a laptop vs in a desktop where as every other chip gets cut off at the knees when it makes the leap to portability

  16. from a technical standpoint what did they do to get 95% of the performance from half of the temperature? is it better heat transfer, more efficient execution, or a complete change in how the hardware is constructed

  17. why is there such a contrast between the "Thermals graphs" and the "WPF graphs"? in the thermals the non X series seems to be getting similar performance for half the power, but when we compare them on a watt per frame board the X series is on top? the frame rates were never that different all withing 5-10% but the thermals graph would lead you to believe that they were using alot less power to get there.. unless there was some kind of difference in cooling even though they said they used the same set up for every CPU

  18. Since my gaming life has been mostly for Arma 3 for a few years now, the base clock speed of the 7600x actually helps. So im glad i got it before the 7600.

  19. Amd already drops the price of 7000x series, looks almost $30 of diference between them.

  20. I was really scared for am5 on release because of the crazy expensive ram and motherboard and that the cpus weren't exactly budget. Super happy that they were able to pull off some sort of win over intel, even if raptor lake is still better in raw performance and last gen support. Can't wait for the 7000x3d release

  21. i live in greece the 7700 cost 100$ more than the 7700x becose is a new release i think i god played AMD

  22. Someone give this man a comb.

  23. Earrings on a dude?

  24. AMD didn't play me! lol. I got a 7600X for $200 no tax 🙂

  25. I paid $440 for a 7900x about 2 weeks ago. Should I return it for the 7900 which is currently $430? To make this decision, it would be really helpful to see a comparison of the Ryzen 7900 vs. the 7900x at 65w ECO mode in productivity work.

  26. Upgraded from a 1300x in November to a 3700x. Upgrading to am5 in 2 months and have planned to for a while now. I'm happy I can get a 7900 for that price as a was going for the 7700x

  27. acctually just got a r7 5800x for christmas 🙁

  28. Built an all red PC for my partner, glad to see the 5800X3D was still the right choice. This thing is insane.

  29. In spite of the hate that the 4070ti is getting, that GPU (285w TDP) and the Ryzen 7 7700 non-x (65w TDP) could be an extremely efficient pairing for a premium 1440p experience. Compare that to a 3090 (350w TDP) and 13700k (125w TDP)—and both of those numbers in no way reflect what those will actually use—and it's jaw dropping. Being able to use a 750w PSU on an mid/upper tier rig in 2023 is absolutely crazy cool. Couldn't be more impressed, AMD. And good job on the review, LTT.

  30. "New lower-end chips" bugged me.
It's just hard for my mind to process 'new' and 'lower-end' in the same sentence. "Lower-end" could mean budget build CPUs, which (to me) aren't 'new' chips.

  31. Why would be 7700x be obsolete compared to the 7700 when the difference in Romania is of 20 $…si what is better then…

  32. My 5950X is still amazing — and most importantly: STABLE. I'm happy sticking with my current gen parts…. that CPU with a RTX 3080 and 128GB of Gskill RGB ram at 3600 is still one heck of a combo.

  33. YEAH BUT LOOK AT THOSE BASE CLOCK DIFFERENCES. 💀💀💀

"nearly the same" has 1 GHz lower Baseclock. That's why it has such a lower TDP haha xD

  34. This week I bought a AMD 7313P, motherboard, and 256GB of ecc ddr4 3200 ram for about $1100. I consider that a great deal.

  35. yeah .. but can it run crysis?

  36. I finf it hilarious I just upgraded to Ryzen 5000 with the 5600 and 16 gigs of ddr4 3200 and now we've moved on to ryzen 7000 and ddr5 6000

  37. I got my 7950x for 550. And free ram. Micro center is temple.
