Deals for Days. Big home savings are happening now.
I think a good idea around the pull out design is for expanding a bit for reading webpages/doing mild data entry/writing a document to get just that bit more space you might otherwise not need for daily use of phone calls or basic use.
a very uncommon idea:
a screen that can lift smaller areas up so you could e.g. feel the buttons of an onscreen keyboard
I think this is a horrible idea. the screen is too plasticky. I think they are good for certain people. But for the average end user weither it is a college person trying to show off. Or people too old to act young, this is sht
Id like to hope if companies can introduce this idea to laptop screens. imagine having a sorta second screen or expandable screen on your laptop without having to bring around a tablet for productivity or even gaming on the go.
I'll take a flex gaming dual-screen, that looks like it would keep me from getting neck issues and be an awesome emulation/gaming device
8:23 This right here would be fucking amazing to emulate games of the Nintendo ds/3ds family
I just want a phone.
If they want bugger screen’s you don’t need bugger screens, just bring smaller screens closer to your face, I think that’s where the glasses phone combo will come in handy. Sure there is the eventual built in VR aspect, but that’s what wireless headphones, wireless AR/VR eye glasses, and you’re little pocket sized typer are.
4:51 I’m not sure what you mean. My phone doesn’t stutter when I flip between portrait and landscape. 😅
Ok, probably not but anyone at Samsung Display looking at this comment: The technology is sick. What would be even more crazy if you could combine your transparent OLED technology with folding and motorized displays. Would be the first person to buy it 100%
Folding phones feel like a gimmick to me, but then again I basically only use my phone for texting and calling people.
The folding tablet is really cool though.
Ive had one idea for some years now but i see it here a little different but it is and im not happy personal things im just in restrictions and am not living this life doing things and etc… im bored this life was very annoying i didnt have my time so what kind of life am i living with limitations what is my part in this life?
I'll never buy a device that makes me wanna iron its display.
Man, a foldable portable monitor would be sweet. Also, a scroll like tablet like the one I think was in some sci-fi movie like The Martian could be really cool and useful.
Now I want the next Switch to have a screen above the controls.
The sliding and folding displays I could see on something like a steam deck.
I think the flex g mobile phone concept with stylus is extremely lovable.
That hug folding tablet would be really useful for taking drawings to building sites so you always have a fresh and most importantly interactive version of all the drawings, and BIM models for the projects, you need on hand at all times. It doesn't make paper drawings redundant because physical copies are still better for understanding scale but man would it be useful tool for on site discussions as well as reducing printing cost cus large format plotters are expensive to buy run and maintain
If i was gonna buy any one of these it would just be the expand/slide screen one cause then i can travel around enjoy the bigger screen and then just unexpand it for calls or just sitting in my pocket taking less room. i for real can see myself buying that then these fold multiscreen ones.

If they can make rollable phones that are a little thinner than the prototypes, I would genuinely buy one. The whole idea of a folding display doesn't really catch me, as either I have to keep on folding it out if I want to use it, or have an extra display on the front, which makes it seem like I'm wasting the folding mechanic and should just buy a tablet. With a rollable display, I can use one display whenever I want, and if I wish to expand it to say watch a video or movie, I can. A massive benefit of this is being able to change the aspect ratio allowing you to consume all types of media, while being able to also modify travel time for your fingers for when you want to type.

I just don't like seeing the crease on the screen….
I still miss the old smart phone I had with the slide out key board.
I think folding screens are great for mobile devices and "expanding" screens are great for stationary devices. Imagine if your home television could just pop up from your TV stand, or scroll down from a projector screen-style box.
I don't think expanding will work well in a mobile device due to the large and high-risk mechanisms required to implement them.
Maybe a big expanding display to either be content watching mode or a multi window mode.
Here's what i would like to have:
I think like a z flip 4, but when you fold it open you can roll the display out so it comes ot like a small phone/tablet!

NO LINUS NEVER THE FANNYBAG!
The ideal fold device you're describing is the Global comm device from the 90s Canadian produced scifi tv series, Earth: The Final Conflict.
I play a lot of rhythm game, and one thing I came to realize is the screen real estate needed for it. Games like lanota is basically almost unplayable on a phone.
So changing phone to tablet is my main concern.
All the flex and roll displays would need something like graphene screens to be confidence inducing however I’d want 3 of these in my day to day.
Flex in and out because I feel some cool games and features could come out of propping it up like a tent but then you you get the added benefit of privacy and protection when it’s closed.
Roll because if I only want a big screen for watching stuff but otherwise prefer the smaller form factor.
Flex G because foldables aren’t a tablet replacement for me but tablets do need to be more portable and that’s a great first a step.
Flex note would have to have a haptic engine for the on screen keyboard at least to make my list but dope concept all the same
Okay samsung
Look i really liked Nintendo but i hate the ideas of holiday all that to the bus / subway so what about a gaming phone with control buttons that with no screen at all when its close but you slide it this away (( 《□》 )) and boom we have a large screen only when we actually need it
If u didn't understand imagine a ps5 controller when you Stretch it out u see a large screen pop up from the inside of the controller
that fold that folds both ways is just the surface duo 3 lol
