100% on board with Linus on paintball. The threat of pain is what makes it so thrilling. This is also why airsoft is such a pussy, poser, wannabe game. The plastic bb's already don't sting nearly as bad as paintball. Then on top of that all these guys show up in their stupid "tactical gear" and take themselves super seriously in a game that, IME, always devolves into:

One of my teachers I had in college was a fan of putting the "A" in STEAM. I personally think it should just stay STEM. Like you were saying, art is great, but there's a reason art isn't in STEM.
I also feel like he went about it the wrong way for verification. People are generally more receiving of a one time fee as opposed to a monthly subscription, had they just announced moving forward verification will cost $100 to cover the cost of verifying someone's identify there would have been minimal backlash

Oh God the the insurance will pay for it argument when I had covid back in August or whenever it was several months ago I had I was giving them prescription for I guess it was some sort of antibiotic I don't really remember but they were it was a course of five pills my insurance would only pay for three pills and they would only give me three like they wouldn't give me all five at a time either I had to get the first three use them and then while I was you know barely I couldn't breathe very well not to where I needed to be hospitalized but like it was a it was a challenge to go up half a flight of stairs and I'd have to stop and take my breath I had to get up in that condition and drive back out a second time to pick up the remaining two pills

I must not know what he is up too either became I do not think his priorities are correct. We are behind at Tesla, including the cyber truck, we are behind on Starlink launches and making it awesome. I do not believe his priorities are in line. No one cares about Twitter – honestly no one cares. We care about awesome internet and awesome cars. Another reason why people don’t want to break out the wallet —- lately everything has become subscription based. For most people one more payment one more subscription is enough to push them over the edge.

Lines of code, and number of commits are stupid metrics by which to judge developers. Code bulk is not a useful measure of quality or productivity.

You might have missed on the "paying for other people's medicine" thing. Sounds like you think that's about insurance; It's about paying hundreds, thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars for meds that are completely free of charge around the world with no insurance.

I REALLY enjoyed every one of Bel's interventions, he is very well spoken and interesting. I didn't know much about Bel before. I wouldn't mind if he was part of the WAN guests full time, he has very interesting takes.
