I debated for months over which version to buy before finally settling on the Intel. On the surface it seemed as if the Ryzen with its double cores/threads would be the superior choice. But the Intel version with its Thunderbolt hookup is what ultimately did it for me. I wished I had seen this video before making my choice as it would have set my mind at ease much sooner. I love my Min Max 2021 and plan of buying an updated version if this one ever breaks down which I pray is not for many, many years. Is the Steam Deck better? Potentially, but in order to play my non-Steam games I have to do extra setups whereas with the Win Max none of that is an issue. That's what makes this handy little guy so great. Anything (almost) my Desktop can do, it can do as well with some limitations.

The winmax sucks. 90 min top of battery life and it feels horrible in your hands. Just get a gaming laptop at that point for that price
I think this company hates AMD because it's nearly impossible to find the Rysen version not even on indigogo. the version that seems to be available is the intel version and that to me sucks cause its just like when they introduce the first GPD Pocket and promise a Windows and a Linux version and the only one they ended up releasing was the windows version.
I mean this is a great thing. Make sure Steam actually has a little competition to keep them from resting on their laurels

I might consider getting a handheld PC as I don’t want to drag around a laptop when traveling, it doesn’t even fit in some of my backpacks so a handheld PC like this might be good when I want to work and play on the go

If steam deck "just works" because of Linux/proton the UI is familiar to millions of current PC gamers and its intuitive for new people looking to get into the market. The price alone is a huge factor in why im guessing valve is gonna blow all handhelds out of the water. The steam deck doesnt "just run windows". Its a whole new thing itself. Theyve got this.
