  1. HTC Vive XR elite have FOV in tests for vertical – 80°, horizontal 92°

  2. Can we test against cities skylines for realistic feel

  3. Remembering how people used to do lan parties by lugging their gigantic computers to friends' places… Now we're upset we have to carry a few things that fit into a bag, half the size of a basketball.

    We're WAY too spoiled…

  4. But if I wait, I’ll be like 50+ years old by the time they streamline the VR glasses design.

  5. I love how this is similar to the Nreal Air but way more expensive. The Nreal Air is $300 compared to others, which is over a thousand dollars.

  6. If your glasses don't fit, just put on contacts maybe? 🤔

  7. Na I have glasses and I don't want to see the real world when I VR 😂

  8. you forgot to mention that the XR elite actually has the depth sensor that was removed from the quest pro at the last minute, so the XR elite has better augmented reality integration.

  9. The Quest 2 using immersed is pretty neat I am hoping for a full touch typing plus hand tracking to work in a standing position. This and the Qpro look like they can make this experience happen

  10. Imagine you pack all of this in pretty bag but forgot that this thing need gaming PC to work lol. Happy travel

  11. Does Vive XR Elite will have same feature as virtual office?

  12. 😎👍

What is the real market penetration for these sort of devices? And how many are in use once the novelty wears off?

  13. +A to the CNET VR media team! Every video is awesome to watch and gets me excited about the future. Scott Stein always talks in a very calm/relaxed voice and knows what he is talking about. These 7 minute videos are easy to watch and filled with great content. Keep it up please!

  14. Would've been sold on the Vive XR if only they could scale it down to a more affordable price. Sucks that the tech we have today doesn't allow for it

  15. The graphics need to get more realistic like Resident Evil 7. Being inside video games isn't that great when the graphics aren't that good, (I'm lookin at you Doom VFR) but when you're inside Resident Evil Biohazard it's like you're really there. I understand that's up to the qualifications of the developer but if they want more mainstream base they need to step it up, amd come down on this price range yikes. Playstation also needs to step up their apps and have VR Chat compatibility or make their own cuz limiting to just video games is a huge limitation

  16. I see the replacement battery is $200, I'm hoping they just leave the battery out the initial purchase and sell for $900, or even come down to a $799 price tag I would definitely think about a purchase at that point

  17. I want OLED

  18. downsizing is the biggest advance for VR since its inception. better specs are great, but size and weight is the key to success

  19. If apple is building VR, it would not be VR but AR. With VR you can't do much, in AR you can. Apple doesn't have software or games that would be interesing to play or use it over meta quest. And even if they are able to, that is not inovation. Only option to be inovate is to offer good AR.

  20. I do like its ability to break down all of it. It has quite a streamlined design. I look forward to the day when headsets are the norm. I still wow ppl with the Quest 2 who haven't tried it, 2 of which bought their own for the fun factor! Thanks for the review & being a fellow VR enthusiast with glasses 🤓🥽🎮

❤ Can you side load and run the Quest version of VR chat on standalone "HTC XR" 🎉

  21. This is really cool. I was just wondering if I could bring my quest headset on to a place to use.

  22. I prefer quest pro is more beautiful

  23. I have a large team that creates content for these types of HMDs – and THANK YOU for providing great insights and unbiased opinions. It’s nice to see a review that isn’t all rainbows and unicorns. You have hit on all of the key issues with the HTC – other than the SDK issues. Just because it’s the same chip – it does run custom apps about 25-30% slower than the Quest Pro – as the software team at Meta is a few years ahead on optimization vs. where the HTC team is at.

  24. 1:40 whats the point of not having a battery? Can it be powered by the usb c port?

  25. VR set should be like astronauts helmets with dome like concave screen or like a mask.battery should be in a backpack or maybe belt mounted holster definitely not on a head

  26. ill probably be 50 by the time vr reaches anything noteworthy and id probably need a new pair of eyes too see pixels lol
