*UPDATE* it does work with Home Assistant using the HomeKit Controller Integration!

Shout out to @TrueFormStudios for explaining how. Don't add it to the Apple Home app first. If you do like I did, it won't work. Remove it from the Apple Home app and then it works great using the HomeKit Controller integration in Home Assistant. Classic Home Assistant, they can't make it too easy!

  2. Very oooooohhh!

  9. Is there a nice thermostat that I can connect to existing non smart valves for floor heating. That I can control its behaviour with sensor i place in rooms. Also it has a ir capabilities to control my non smart air conditioning? I’m looking for a similar product but it is not easy 🥲

  10. rooms by means separated by wall ?

  11. Awesome! Thanks for sharing and have been waiting to see how great this is!

  12. Odd that you couldn't add it to the Home Assistant Homekit integration. I read another review today and they were able to add it to Home Assistant using the HomeKit integration. Below is from the review. It's up on smarthomescene (obviously can't leave the link.
EDIT: should have read the other comments first load that you got it working in Home Assistant

    From the review below:

However, I managed to successfully integrate the Aqara FP2 in Home Assistant via the HomeKit Controller Integration. Put the device in pairing mode by holding the button until the LED starts blinking:

The device should get auto discovered if the default Home Assistant config is enabled. If not, navigate to Settings > Devices & Services > + Add Integration > Apple > HomeKit Controller. Select the sensor at the prompt:

It will ask you for the HomeKit Pairing Code which you can find on the back sticker on the device itself. Input the code without dashes and press submit.

The Presence Sensor entity is there and fully usable as well as the illuminance reading. The identify button simply blinks the LED on the Aqara FP2. What even neater, is that you can add more zones and presence templates which will be automatically exposed in Home Assistant. In the Aqara Home App, create a few more other detection zones and they will be added as separate entities in Home Assistant:

  13. Cords…ppffttt…..

  14. Can you make a video talking and showing what recessed lights you use and how they're wired to be smart communicating to function with this sensor? You never show this seemingly basic stuff to you but we have no clue how you do this.

  15. where exactly in the bedroom is my wife standing right now

  16. The most impressive part of this video is when you plugged in the USB A the right way up.

  17. It's 60 GIGA Hertz not Hertz 😉

  18. Omg dude thats insane, Its crazy how its able to do all those things in such a tiny little device cant wait to see whats next when it comes to sensors like that. Now imagine that but it being built into ceilings 🙂

  19. That is one pricey little sensor

  20. excitedly clicked the link… not yet global, or australia is on a different globe.
