Awesome Tips This WAS under NDA… Until I Called in a Favor

Intel showed us the goods on probably the single thing I’m most excited about from CES 2024, and it’s…Thunderbolt? Seriously, this is so cool. Not only that, but Wi-Fi 7 seems like it will actually be an increase that actually matters to regular people- as well as niche corner-case weridos like me lol

  1. Correction: At 0:12 the text on screen says Mbps when it should say MBps. We're working on getting a fixed version uploaded! Thanks everyone who pointed that out.

  2. Hey! Don't know what mic you used, but love it

  3. Feels like Linux "lets do the same thing, but differently"

  4. It would be great for VR

  5. You guys are selling Ludwig's bidets?

  6. "I don't have a slow mo camera in my pocket"

Umm yeah you do, your phone. 😭

  7. So I can finaly dock my laptop to my pc?

  8. The Dennis ads are terrible..

  9. So tired of titles that just look like clickbait. I understand "Youtube algorithm", buy the title get old quick.

  10. Yet another NDA you breached. Well done

  11. Why didn't someone do this earlier 😩 please tell me we are going to be on usb-c for a long time 😅

  12. My only fear with Wifi 7 is ever further marginalization of wired ethernet pre-wiring in new homes or support in devices because of lack of consumer demand because the average consumer is ill-informed/mis-informed/ill educated/mis-educated on the fact that wired will always be superior to wireless, especially where distance (both short and long) and mobility/portability are not requirements. If your printer or desktop sits next to your router, why use wifi, just plug it into ethernet. You need low latency and reliable connectivity, go ethernet. Peak speeds with minimal fluctuation, ethernet again. Wifi 7 MIGHT change my mind about MoCA 2.5 (and supposedly 3.0 soon) and PLC (either HomePlug AV2 2000 or G.hn) being superior to wifi as alternatives when ethernet isnt't an option or can't easily be run.

  13. The ThunderboltShare functionality would be awesome for IT support scenarios, headless server, no keyboard and mouse, just connect your Windows/Linux laptop (or Android phone…since I would be shocked if Apple would ever support this), and you have a virtual IPKVM…even better if this was supported by the UEFI/IPMI/iAMT/DASH/whatevever you wanna call it so you can access the UEFI BIOS in these situations.

  14. crazy that apple product had it for years.

  15. Sure !

  16. Hi, Everyone. What's the name of the game He's is playing? Thank You.

  17. That segue was actually pretty funny

  18. Holy Fuck I don't know if I have ever been excited for Wifi… but THIS sounds phenomenal

  19. Did this just make capture cards between two PCs pointless?

  20. Been running my PC games from my desktop on any of my other devices such as phone, tablet, TV, or projector for a few years by combining Nvidia gamestream and moonlight. Tried several other combinations but that combo was by far the best I could find. 4k steam over Ethernet with a barely noticeable lag. Turn on hyperV and partition your graphics card for multi screen multiplayer. Lan parties from 1 machine, noice.

  21. WiFi 7? lol most people are already happy with a mesh wifi 5 router

  22. It's interesting to see this so late (relatively speaking) to the spec. We have had RDMA over Ethernet for a while at high bit rates and DP over Type C (earlier TB versions had consolidated outputs a decade ago!). I am thinking that there was little interest or value from the perspectives of megacorps for mainstream computing, despite all the technologies existing.

  23. “ We didn’t sell it, we auctioned it”

  24. A cable/software package that lets you use another computer as a display? About time.

  25. MacBook or Mac can kinda of do that. I just randomly found this out when putting 2 M3 Max MacBook Pros together and it just allowed me to do a extended screen between the 2 MacBooks. I was socked by this because it was my first time seeing anything like this and they where not even connected by a wire they just simply noticed oh I'm near another MacBook and it seamlessly connected to the other one and just went into extended display without needing to configure it.The best part was it was also smooth with no delay between the 2 screens and keyboard and trackpads. Like no matter where i moved the arrow on my trackpad I could go to the 2nd MacBook and move the trackpad and it could just pick up from there.

  26. Quit being a scammer man…

  27. wifi 7 is 1000x the speed of my wired connection i get

  28. If this could make oculus link not suck that would be great

  29. Son of LapLink

  30. Great video, I like this kind of videos!

  31. Ahh, the days of sending 128mb worth of mp3s to my Rio in 1998. It took about 15 minutes.
That's megabytes, not mbps. 128 megabytes. That was considered to be high density storage while many other devices were stuck on 16 and 32 mb. It doesn't seem that long ago, I still watch TV shows that were made then.

  32. Been using 4096 QAM for the ISP I work for. Technically can go up to 8192 QAM on our OFDM channels with OFDMA on our upstream. Even going to mid splits and sub splits. I love when subjects like this come up

  33. 11:43 Trust me, if we've made it this far into the video, we're not going to be bored with the extra details.

  34. Would love it in the future if you could for say wii u emulation run both the gamepad and tv screens on a steamdeck like pad and share over the tv part while keeping only the pad part on the deck. I could be misinterpreting the potential but I am hopeful for a better ds/3ds/wii u emulation setup

  35. this would be so useful for steam deck

  36. Meanwhile the iPhone 15 pro still can’t transfer data faster than 60MBps using USB-C

  37. What's really exciting about this for me is that this could potentially eliminate the need of crash carts or KVM consoles for headless server management. In the long run any laptop you have could be used as a KVM console without having to carry heavy and expensive hardware.

  38. I'm in Australia. My internet is 100 megabit…..and that's the fastest available. So wifi 2 will probably cover it. 😂

  39. Right 👍

  40. Okay but hear me out here… Next generation of following generation of thunderbolt to include all if this as well as being a direct connection method that can replace the aged ethernet connection we currently run

  41. thunderbolt 40GBps switch for LAN parties, when???

  42. Why can't we do this over ethernet?

  43. Lol, he thinks we dont skip ahead 20 seconds and miss 5 seconds.

  44. WiFi-7 in china is so cheap. You can get a WiFi-7 OpenWRT router for udner 50 USD

  45. This will be incredible for VR
