Can anyone think the word ZigBee in their head and NOT hear Paul Hibbert's voice?
The eufy recommendation didnt age well😂
really nice video
The Linkind contact sensor says it needs a Linkind hub
I love this Newest.Technology Echo Dot. I had one of the first Dots out. This 3rd generation is much better. I listen to my Echo Dot every single night. I have Alexa play light rain sleep sounds. Love it!
Zigbee also works with eero routers.
have you tested c by ge switch's and integrated with home assistant.
Oh so automatically ignoring the Apple
HomeKit hubs?
If I have a hub, do I still need to get bridge (from ring or philips hue) to trigger lights using motion sensors?
Do I need Aqara hub if I get their contact sensor? I am using Alexa, Kasa switches and also just setup my home assistance.
You called 500$ budget?
hey whats Sensor did you use on your daughter's door I really like gow u have a custom message for the Sensor
I would a Home Assistance Hub without the intricate setup. Otherwise s, I stick with Samsung Hub v3.
So stupid question but should I wait until the end of the year when they expect Amazon will announce echo 5th gen or should I buy the 4th (living in the Netherlands planning on starting my art home this upcoming amazone prime day sale).
I'm in love with your videos
Light, clear, great advice, and funny
Thank you!
Wow! Thanks for the spreadsheet! That's really useful reference.
Keep up the good work.
Great review!!!!!
What about homeseer 4, I have several units and i love them super simple super easy. Everything is set up on one hub and all local no could needed, They even have node red But I have not tried it out yet
It's rather disappointing that simple On/Off smart buttons don't work directly with the Echo 4th gen. You would think that would be one of the easiest features to support.
for 0$ you can have a smarthome, just collect all the beat-up smartphones from your friends and relatives, the ones gathering dust in an old drawer, the ones they can't otherwise use or sell. Have one in each room and use their sensors and features to make a plethora of automations including media that follows you around the house on the fly
Although I mostly agree with you on better sensors maybe costing more, this is not always the case. Aqara sensors, as an example, have good battery life, they work well and the Motion sensors have a light sensor in them as well. I've used both the cheaper Aqara and more expensive Hue motion sensors, and the only thing I find different is the cool down period. The Aqara is about a minute where Hue is 10 seconds, but is this worth the extra price? Other than that, sensitivity and connectivity have been flawless on both.
The Eufy cameras are so much better than Ring. If you are looking for a doorbell cam, go the Eufy over the Ring anytime. It is worth it.
Hey Reed, what's your opinion about Vera (ezlo) as a controller? Have you done a comparison video on it, if not that would be fun to see.
Good i like you.
So depressing 500usd is basically minimum wage here in South Africa – and the cost does not even include the fact that most of these are not locally available and would cost twice as much if imported. – loved the video though thanks
Did you have trouble setting up the BroadLink buttons? I now have a second one sent from Amazon bc I thought the first was broken. The hub connects and then disconnects before I can connect the button.
I have a decent amount of smart things in my house, so I’m not quite an amateur.
