Clarification: While the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H can be configured up to a 65W TDP, it was running in the mid-30s during our testing on this device both in productivity and in games, for example reaching an average of 36W in performance mode during our Cyberpunk benchmark. We apologize for not including this information in the video.

I still understood nothing.
Sounds like an Apple naming scheme
What happened with that "not financial advice" thing showed up multiple times 😂😂😂
Anyway still a great explanation about the ultra series
dbrand skin for the zenbook ??
I get distracted for like 3 seconds and suddenly there's a toilet taking a leak onto a guy??? I'm so confused
In all seriousness, I hope quick reviews like this can be enough to convince Intel to step their game up a notch or two. Sure there may be some competition going on, but it seems ideal to produce a product that's at least as good as the previous generation, especially if you give it a new confusing and ridiculous name.
AND YES, please, a decent bench that can use those NPUs on the newer chips would be awesome. Especially now that both AMD and Intel chips have an NPU in certain SKUs in certain segments.
im not sure what it is that is different but the recent videos have felt to me higher in quality (im sure has something to do with longer production times) i was wondering tho if anyone else has noticed this. cause to me its cool to see a channel as big as ltt still changing up there editing style to see what works best and to bring up the quality!
why don't they optimize the windows for the new processor
Boycott Intel!
Is the NPU similar to a Google Coral?
2:12 "Closely-er"
And no mention about battery life expectations….
4:14 What happened on the teleprompter there Linus? 👀
Twomad
what about compared to m1? Those are similar prices
The title to this should be, "why Apple is STILL killing it." But seriously, we need power consumption and thermals @Linus
Remember Intel was making fun of AMD for "gluing" the chip together 9:30 ? Great work Lisa Su, looks like Intel understood your engineering.
Intel sales are down so their plan was to confuse enthusiasts and new buyers. Whenever someone recommends to buy 14th gen, they will not find the mobile processors, and when someone recommends buying ultra, they lose customers to apple. Amazing
you honestly make me want to sell my amd build and go intel build. you cring riding of amds urine snake is annoying. intel changes name to simplify things and you make a video of doing nothing but bashing them. how much does amd pay you and be honest.
This will probably be the thing to save intel
I don't mind this naming scheme too much, if its consistent with the SKUs. Like higher number = better or ideally higher same name being same different to others.
Having the suffix a bit earlier might have helped, but seeing this video I now have at least some clue about it.
What I'm wondering about is e.g. how the Core 7 (non Ultra) stacks up against Core 5 Ultra variants.
My mom needs a new laptop. She wants a little faster one (like maybe even i7), since she keeps them for 7+ years. But now… do i recommend a low tier ultra or a mid tier normal?
Haven't heard a good reason for this confusing duality yet.
Is the core (Ultra) series the laptop version of 14tg gen and beyond?
I've long since given up tracking Intel/AMD's nonsensical product segmentation. I go by the TDP class (which I know is also lies) to pick 6w fanless, 15w light duty, or 45w+ perf/desktop, then go by passmark single thread score and passmark multicore score.

Intel should fire the marketing team. EVERYONE
Guess you forgot about Apple’s Neural Engine (included on the M3) that they’ve been shipping for the better part of a decade (since 2017 on the A11 Bionic) when asking what to compare the NPU to?
Like saying: "My shipping address is 137 15th Street Unit N. Make sure you don't ship it to 137 15th Street Unit M because that's in Afghanistan."
Difference: for the core ultra you have to work some extra hours.
Looking at this/past week's WAN show, I wonder if people who only watch the videos know that the beard is gone…
Not coming to PC's for a long time as they need to build a massive parter ecosystem around the new socket.
All new motherboards, coolers and such, may even need a new case format.
The new "code" is actually a bit easier to decode than you're giving it credit for but I wouldn't be shocked if Intel started doing more sub generations in the future making it more complex. They could release in 9 months a Ultra core 7 165H and it's different than a Ultra core 9 165H and if they wanted to get even more sinister they could release a Ultra core 9 155H making it more complex. We just have to wait and see but at least the Numbers have more meaning than before.
The naming scheme seems straightforward to me. When people ask me, I'll tell them Intel processors that end in U are a scam. Their performance sucks and AMD is better for power efficiency. That's what you were going for, right Intel marketers?
The framework laptops look really bad for how much they cost
