Awesome Tips I Built my own Power Supply (don’t do it)
Don’t cheap out on a PSU, and don’t build your own. Buy one from our sponsor Seasonic instead: or learn more about what the have coming at

Ever thought about trying to assemble your own power supply out of a few separate parts? You probably shouldn’t, but we definitely did. Is it a competent power supply? How does it compare to higher end power supplies like those you might find from Seasonic?

Electroboom should've been there
ELECTROBOOM would be ANGRY at these PUNY rectifiers. they are not FULL BRIDGE RECTIFIERS
At what point does he actually build a power supply though?
psu: 😶"bomb has been planted" 📱📱📱💣💣💣
Oooo, water cool the seasonic power supply
Shocked myself with my power supply when I was like 13 well over 10 years ago. Poked the wrong thing with a all metal screw driver and boy oh boy i wont be doing it again
Labs team. Perfect.

"Be careful when it's turned on"
touches it with bare hand
I did something similar during covid when the power supply in my computer died an nobody had one. Would not recommend though randomly getting shocked while using a computer is terriable an yes the whole system got replaced a few weeks latter.
Rated 69 at 420 watts
Now that is a bold sponsor 👏
I wish that these kind of "12v to ATX power modules" have a Microcontroller in them with a connection to the PC to supply information like power usage and battery gauge (if its set up with a 12v battery) so the computer kinda acts like a laptop with battery icon and battery reporting.
my current setup at home uses a power inverter to power the computer and a STM32 bluepill to detect battery voltage and report the whole power system status via USB to the host computer (USB HID Power Device). the computer detects it and reports it as system battery, showing up in /sys/class/power_supply
why does linus sound different in this one
The sheer number of warnings on this video in the first 5 minutes alone should hopefully convince a lot of folks why this is a BAD IDEA.
"So it died?" "Yea" thats a valid summary of the main point here i think 🤔
Oh man I wonder how many people watched this and thought oh I can do that and now they're hair permanently stays up lol
9:14 – hey, it's smoking! Ah, wait, that's on the screen, no worries.
Be careful when playing with switching power supply. On the high side, the voltage will be 310 volts DC when the input is 220 volts AC, which is quite nasty.
You can Play Alcatraz In The Harms Way.
You guys are really clueless about this sort of thing?! Or do you only get sponsor money if you fail?
Also does not inspire viewers to actually learn a skill like electronic engineering…
If someone wants a power supply that is much smaller vs standard ATX and has no fan.
HDPLEX 500W GaN AIO(All-In-One) ATX Power Supply for $115
It can take an AC input 100-240V.
They also have a power supply that takes 12-48V dc input with no fan.
HDPLEX 500W DC-ATX Converter for $115
They changed the mic they use. Idk exactly which video (could be this one). But I just noticed it sounds differed.
naw see, why buy your own pre-built components when you can grow your own silicon crystals and dope them yourself
id prefer a power supply that would last
New title: We powered a pc with a PS3 PSU and so can you! (don't do it)
you can get cheap HP PSUs from servers that can do remarkable amounts of wattage at 12V extremely cheap, you can even buy breakout boards for them, could be a good option if you're brave/stupid enough to do this, good for powering lots of LEDs!
You should rate esp32 and make a whole video explaining it🎉
Tell this to dell.
Well, I guess if you really want to build an f tier psu that will likely damage your system, looks terrible, and is warrantied by yourself, this is the way to do it.
Electric eels hahahahaha
1:54 Nothing inspires confidence like sloppy craftsmanship like a very crookedly-placed inductor. 😒
Am I the only one who finds the audio really glassy?
