Cool video and thank you to everyone that worked together to make it happen. I feel like having at least some sort of transparency in a ultra high security situation like a data center is so important to the rapid technological growth that is happening this day and age.
Honestly one of the coolest videos you guys have done. These tours are one of my favorite things. The kind of tech in these places is mind boggling.
Why does Tom Scott looks so different
"4 loaded minicoopers" why are freedom units making into canada
Wowaviva! This is epic!
I’d like to think this is a result of an incredibly intelligent “red team.”
Genuinely incredible levels of redundancy, but there’s always more to think of 😅😂
So we found the next Mission Impossible heist
This is one of the coolest building tours ever.
Great tech, but gosh, the delivery of that guy is insufferable !
Very very good
That is very old
That building hosts at least 3 more levels than shown
looking forward to the b-roll of the spool of fibre optic cable!
I live in Chicago and I'm trying to think what Linus is referencing at 18:27. Nothing last winter registered as remarkable to me. I guess we dipped into -10F (-23C) for a bit in January, but we usually get punished for a stretch in January and February.
oh hey i work at equinix
what codes you flip with that keychain lmao
What I want to know is who edited this. With how much blurring there is, and i assume how much footage didn't make the cut, does LTT have the raws in their servers? Are they now a Valuable Target for hackers more sophisticated than the script kiddies that got them twice before? To see all the blurred secrets and sensitive footage that didnt make the cut?
Show us the BMS! =)
I keep waiting for Linus to try Doom Eternal on it.
Interesting
Bravo……water cooled………..what about how much energy does it take?……
My elevator lifts loaded 18 wheelers to 6th floor.
They might not have been able to surround it with barriers but they could just hide them in the structure of the building. They can make them indestructible against all vehicles that are on the roads.
im sure the automatic lights that only turn on when a human is detected are integral for the power usage of this datacenter
I beleive there's 4 S's…
It took me couple of minutes to recognize, you guys have bad pixel (or array of pixels) in that video. But still – great content!
Took me a while to realise that the audio of linus speaking is heavily surpressing the background noise
Very Cool.
I visited an Equinix facility back in 2007 or so. Interesting to see what has changed and what is still the same.
0:21 dbrand product placement
Poor Linus was probably green with envy that his building isn't this cool lol
This is a lot like Telia HDC I visited a few years back. One interesting difference is that the heat is used to heat offices and homes in Helsinki.
Part 2
whatever the little dangly snes thing hanging from belt you keep playing with is distracting.
I'm curious, the 8-bit do controller, is it running the teleprompter page?
As someone who has done a fair amount of BMS maintenance in data-centers, I'm having flashbacks to the aggro of working there. Well done to the maintenance teams keeping these places going!
This is by far the most impressive and amazing video you have ever gotten to make, Just want to thank Equinix again for letting you actually make something like this and show it to us and just how open they were with this. Your video here is probably one of the best resources for learning about this amazing place that I just never knew what it was for out there currently.
What us the yellow thing on your belt loop that you keep touching?
never thought to use a data center as a base for a zombie apocalypse
What I want to know now is, "how does someone smart enough to even work at this facility not know how to properly microwave popcorn? Extra zero by accident?"
Ive toured a very similar facility operated by Verizon. (Minus the extra security for trading infrastructure) It was super cool
