I held off for months to upgrade from my old Android handset to the new SE replacement, then when I saw the features AND THE PRICE, I bought a new Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G.
The new kind of chassis for power efficiency and battery maybe also means that MagSafe will be hurt in iPhone 17 series as well. There is no real place to put the magnets anymore. And it's difficult to imagine they did all the chassis hard work just for 16e. Perhaps Apple thinks keeping the magnets on the case is the way forward.
if this was a mini phone then everything mentioned in this video would be just fine to great. but all this is is a barely cheaper iphone 16. its a pointless phone and seems apple doesn't want the business of most apple users i know or myself who are all clinging onto our iphone 12's and 13's for dear life because we like phones actualy being usable with one hand and fitting in our pockets and purses.

App crashes is kinda harsh. i have a 16p and I haven't had a single app crash. i upgraded from a 14p and on my 14p apps and Bluetooth were buggy.

Well if we to assume this phone is the iphone X, which cost at $1000 at launch. This costing 60% of that with the latest tech and updates, i am more than happy actually to upgrade than the SE.
Apart from the price and features, this design is what i’d call a smartphone, clean, minimal, single camera like in the olden days

Dear Europeans, i don’t know whats going on with the pricing but i don’t think it’s all Apple.
Just checked the German website and its €699 for pre order yet in France its €719, Spain its €709, nedeerlands €719, italy €729, switzerland €669 (629chf), denmark €737.19(5499dkk), sweden €762.63 (8495sk), norway €772.97 (8990nk), Austria €709, and in comparison united arab emirates €676.33 (2599aed)
I think its got a lot to do with countries import export tariffs rather than apple ripping people off.

SE phone was the last compact phone on the market. Now we have no options for buying a good and affordable small phone :'(
Everyone trashing this and saying it won’t sell must have forgotten about the XR. It was marketed as the “budget” iPhone too except it was like $700. Haters were trashing it because its display was under 1080p but most people didn’t care. I predict this will be the same. It’s the cheapest iPhone with a flagship like appearance and most people won’t miss the lacking features.
This "budget phone" is 729 € here in Italy… How ? Just how… You can literally buy a pixel 9 for 650 € on Amazon

you may as well get an ipad air for that price. an ipad air. it should cost the same as at least the mini, maybe even the base ipad
