I'm happy with my 3080 i bought a few months ago for 350 bucks. That's what regular gamers buy. A 5090 is just unnecessary.
I play a lot of RDR2, Cyberpunk, Rouge Trader, Minecraft (Java with shaders and textures) at 3440 x 1440. My, now old 2080ti and 9900K do the trick. However, GTA6 could well be on the way in the next 12 months. Maybe an upgrade by the end of the year?
£2000 for a GPU that you can’t get at RRP or even at all. That could burn your house down. That costs 33% more than the 2 year old card it replaces but only offers at 20% increase if your lucky. Runs older PhysX games worse than £200 GPUs. Has a 5% chance of being defective. Oh and costs more to run? But people are generally stupid and will lap it up. Don’t be part of the problem. Preach your words Linus and support us!

Omg where's the rocket league?
I think it's wild when you can see most of these games over 120fps and still get some sort of motion blur when moving camera whit mouse. It's hard to tell if it's the camera that you film or is it really happening on the screen. In fallout76 you really see this happening bad.
Why was this PC and screen crammed into a weird filming position? Between the angle, the heads in the way and the out of focus it just didn’t come across great despite the good content focus.
At first I wasn't sure about her answer, but not buying it is the only right thing to do! Nvidia is taking the piss out of us as customers with its products!

At the end of the day, when I'm playing a game I couldn't care less for its performance at 4K when the game runs perfectly fine at 1080p without all the AI slob added to it. Nobody needs this, nobody needs ridiculous frame rates, nobody needs to waste this amount of money and nobody needs to waste this much energy for what is already running over 60 FPS.
And no, even you no brain self proclaimed "pro" gamers: shut the frill up, you fail at basic math every single time so you do not know what frill you are talking about.

Still running a 1080Ti and still not hit that point of I definitely need to upgrade, I'm going to this year but I still don't need to, so I think called a 3080 dated it a bit unfair
For KCDII I am using a 3070 and running at 4k @60fps, med to max settings. I am very impressed with how my 3070 copes with 4k
I’ve tried so many times to go from console gaming to pc gaming, building 2 PC’s myself but I always go back to console. I can’t justify an insanely overpriced machine that has constant staggering and frame dips in every game. The developers need to be held accountable for their horrible optimisation.

This is not an upgrade. This is a side-grade. You paying more money fr a next gen product for more performance. For an upgrade. The old item should be replaced with a simular pricing product which gives an increased in performance

I love how nonchalant you guys are about how easy it is to get a 50 series GPU at retail price and they be in stock… I can't even upgrade from a 3060 for anything less than 1k it seems, so if I'm spending 1k for a 3080 why not spend another 1k for a 5090? Nonsense
