Recently Linus switched to an iPhone and… didn’t love it. So he’s doubling down and getting an Apple laptop and desktop as well to see if his problem with the iPhone was just that he hadn’t bought enough other Apple products.

Deals for Days. Big home savings are happening now.
Yeah, try to drag a file into an Open/Save File dialogue window. Or spend hours of browsing files instead.
MacOS by the way must be customized in the System Preferences: Mission Control, Launch Pad, Stacks, Finder. The basic state of its software configuration sucks.
Anyone think this is to scripted? I would prefer they just get in a room with an "expert" and ask questions similar to the phone video. Guess that doesn't really work with Linus though.
What is his crazy guy here bring the Jonathan horst or iJustin
Bleh Apple products are trash.
Pixel scaling was not touched! MacOs has its pitfalls
What happened to Linus quitting doing videos? could have sworn he made this whole video like years ago explaining and introducing his replacements.
The reason that they're much more reasonable about the prices on laptops is because it's a lock-in product. With a desktop, you're more apt to upgrade it yourself rather than accept their onerous prices. Not a lot of people have the gumption to do the same for a laptop because they're notoriously difficult to repair and/or upgrade. So they try to price away the desktops so that individuals get vendor locked and businesses won't care and just write off the expense, even if they need to upgrade.
used a imac 2021-2022. worst YEAR of my life. like holy shit MacOS is shit.
I am strictly an Android and PC user. I hate the pricing of Apple products….actually I think Apple is getting out of reach for me anyway. But I will give credit to the Macbooks. I have one….Actually I still have just One. First Gen Macbook Air. Its was fully upgraded when I originally got it. Unlike the Windows Offerings, The macbook's battery still holds on. While you need to change your laptops at the first signs slowness and battery problems after a few years. Macbooks can actually go the Distance. My brother still has a working iBook LOL. The only downside is updating the OS which slows down the laptop. I still use it for travel or General use. Because I can't get a new Macbook because of the crazy upgrade prices. I settled for a Surface go to handle modern tasks.
having a 42 inch monitor at your desk should be illigal hahah, that shit cant be good for your eyes or neck
Yikes. I don't need to view more than 1min. Why you buy things from this planned obsolescence crap company.
“My use case of word processing or google docs” – iPad OS is perfect for that…
I think it’s funny how Linus talks so much trash about apple being so expensive but at the same time sells a 20 dollar screwdriver for 70.
This video appears to use "PC" as a synonym for Microsoft Windows. Why is that?
The term "PC" stands for "Personal Computer," which, in a broad sense, includes any general-purpose computer designed for individual use—whether it runs Windows, macOS, Linux, or another operating system.
I think the MacBook Pro M3 base only allows for one external screen, right? 4:46
Apple is a scam
"I've assembled a trough…"
Genius! Hahaha!
Apple offering 256 gb storage in 2025 is awful

This choice was tainted from the get go, the MacBook Pro 16 doesn’t fit the backpack…
Still enjoy my backpack tho!
I don't understand the logic in forcing one manufacturers systems. I got M1 mini initially and it's ok as conventional desktop. So I tried to get into iOS cause of the insane hype by getting iPad and got seriously disappointed in integration. Very little value imo if one knows how to use any system properly. So my used systems are currently mentioned MacOS and iOS plus following: Windows, Linux and Android. Using like Synching and Localsend one already gets more functionality over forcing to use Apple products. And in the end. Every single one of those systems have their pros and cons. Never going to invest 100% into one system with my experience. To me that's stupidity.
Personally i use everything but windows. Windows makes my work way to complex for no reason at all. Also i'm so use debian and ubuntu that it makes my life so much easier to use for my everyday stuff. The only place windows is a thing is gaming because of anti-cheat games my better half plays games that needs it.
At 8:00 that is peak apple consumer experience.
Yep, that's me. I am one of the people that can upgrade your onboard RAM on your Apple Mac.
Edit: I just finished an M1 8GB to 16 GB last night.
After all this time. Notch on a laptop display. Is this the peak of technology?
Something to bear in mind is that the window snapping gap that is likely to bother you is configurable in system preferences: "Desktop & Dock -> Windows -> Tiled windows have margins". Apple gonna be apple with the defaults but at least on this they gave an option for normal people.
bro really cant review past the cost
AH scroll down it tells me to buy a Rs:
10k screwdriver
34k backpack
Honestly the MBP 14" is just the absolute sweetspot. 16 is damn heavy and bulky. air can be underpowered. Im still on a MBP 14 M1 Pro and its still doing just great. aged very well
word processing and google docs – Lenovo ThinkPad? no?
"waste time" hearing this message from our sponsor haha
whats up with all these series starting and never ending?
It honestly feels stupid to spend so much on a laptop that you cannot game with.
Still dailying my MacBook Pro 14" M1 and couldn't be happier, battery life shits all over Windows laptops (like actual sleep when you close the lid) and I have my Windows gaming rig for anything at home.
macOS …. Berkeley Unni., with a user. Interface that makes Linux looks like something put together by some preschoolers….
This would have been a much better video with Jonathan in it. RIP Mac Address.
I've been using the MacBook Air 15 inch for 3 months (as of today). as for me the performance is great. doing some illustrator here and there, live streaming using obs now and then with no issues
So, the employees that switched to android…. dafuq are they at?
9:50 why no single core comparison on cinebench?
The Mac mini is designed for "your own" keyboard and display. The Mac Keyboard is cool, but I would never buy a Mac Screen. You shouldn't either.
Very interested to see how you go with this.
A few friends and i bought the mini about a month ago. Lots of reasons but technologists curiosity is the most fitting across the board.
It's been an interesting experience. Just connected it to the kvm on my monitor of existing setup.
Week 1 i basically used the mac all week and didnt touch the PC. Maybe novelty, maybe curiosity but was really enjoying the Mac. Tried a bunch of things. Compiling 3d print models, games, etc. And was genuinely imlressed at what it could do. Was often left with a "wow didnt think it could do that" sensation.
Week 2 sterted to run into some frustrations. Some easily solvable. Others, i found out werent. Too much time googling, watching videos and getting frustrated. Realised i dont like safari much. A me problem.
Week 3, shines wearing off but getting my head around it. 16gb ram was not enough. Im also slightly dissapointed by the stability. Admittedly im used to windows / freebsd and linux and honestly i have no stability issues with any of them. Biggest gripe with windows is power and sleep management. However the Mac.. programs hang. I see that spinning rainbow wheel all the time. Its not a big deal, but for some reason it irks me all the same. Doesnt happen with the built in Mac apps.. but chitubox, discord, teams and steam ive had all hang on me. Most come back in less than a second. Some take a few more. Sometimes i need to kill the app.
Week 4: Im not using the Mac much anymore. Nothing really wrong with it. Ive learned most of the hot keys. I tried, and hate with passion, the magic mouse. The mini is fine. Power button placement is still stupid, but people were right, i dont ever really touch it. For the form factor it is a super cool piece of tech. Will it replace my desktop PC? Absolutely no chance. Its a novelty. I dont mind the OS. Like it better ahn my last attempt. I like some of the built in software. I love i can throw it in a bag and take it with me.. im actually doing this tomorrow for a few days. And i think no power brick is amazing. But i dont like how it handles my display. No matter what i try i just cant get it to look "right". Ubuntu and win 10 look great on the same monitor. Even my Rog ally loks great on it. I dont like how i feel at any given time the answer to any query i raise is buy more apple products. I dont like being abused when i say i dont wish to do tat and ask isnt there another way? Maybe they smell that deep down im a PC person. Who knows? And dont even start me on how the mac mini has an almost chuck norris meme like fanbase out there. It is a great device, no argument. Does it "destroy" my substantially larger and more expensive PC? It does not. Is it the fastest computer ive ever used. It is not. Ive literally seen people promising the m4 base model has the gaming power of a RTx 4090 snd arguing with anyone who claims otherwise. Its a goood enough devicd without the hyperbole.
Will i keep it? Yeah. It's a cool device. Will i use it sometimes – definitely, especially for video editing. Am i excited to have a portable capable device? Sure am. I just prefer using my PC.
Dude your comment of not spending to much on something you don’t want would suggest you have throttled your choice VS taking the real approach of what would you buy if you had to use it forever. So your experience will be negatively impacted.
